NBA Playoffs Betting - experience will pay off for Celtics against Magic in Game 7
Betting online for Game 7s can be a nail-biting experience as much for online sports betting players as it is for the players on the hardwood, and Sunday’s game between Boston and Orlando at TD Banknorth Garden should be no exception. Online sports betting sites are giving the Celtics the edge, and their experience has carried them through this series; this will undoubtedly include Game 7 in the Magic vs Celtics odds.
- Ray Allen has to get going for the Celtics
- Celtics need to slow down Dwight Howard
- Look for “The Truth”
After complaining about a lack of touches after Game 5’s loss, Dwight Howard showed why he was correct with a dominating 23-point, 22-board effort in Game 6’s 83-75 win at home. The Celtics have no one who can guard D-12, and he can essentially get to the hoop whenever he wants. Rashard Lewis added 20 for the Magic, while Hedo Turkoglu shook off a tough shooting night to make a clutch three late in the fourth quarter. That the Magic won this game is mind-boggling if you look at the team stats: 36.6% from the floor (6-of-26 from beyond the arc), 17-of-31 from the foul line, and they were outrebounded 48-42 despite Howard’s massive night on the glass.
A major reason the Magic pulled off their win is due to Boston’s uncharacteristic 19 turnovers, and they were also a miserable 3-of-18 from three-point land. Rajon Rondo had another insane game, racking up 19 points, 16 boards and six assists, although he did commit five turnovers. Paul Pierce had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Celtics, who looked a bit winded in the second half, and they failed to get to the free-throw line, attempting only 13 to Orlando’s 31. Ray Allen continued his slump in this series, as he went 2-of-11 for five points and missed all seven of his three-pointers.
Sports betting odds are favoring the Celtics by 2.5 points in this do-or-die game. The Magic dropped a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter to give the game to the Celtics in Boston, but they responded with a gutsy performance in Game 6. Howard demanded the rock and he delivered, so look for the Magic to do much of the same. Allen needs to wake up and shoot the way he did in the Chicago series, and with his clutch pedigree, those who are betting online should expect a big game from the veteran sharp-shooter. However, the key is Pierce (aka “The Truth”), who has risen to the occasion so many times in front of the Boston faithful, and the 2008 Finals MVP will carry his team past the Magic, who aren’t quite ready for the big stage. Make Boston your basketball betting pick.
