NBA Playoff Bets – NBA Picks For Thursday, April 29th
Dallas Mavericks @ San Antonio Spurs
Betting Odds: Spurs -3.5Welcome to the George Hill show, believe it or not. In a series with stars like Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan, the deciding factor has really been the lesser-known second-year start for San Antonio.
NBA betting fans have seen Hill play spectacularly at times this series and to be quite frank, if he scores 29 points again in Game 6, this series will not be going to a seventh game.
Gregg Poppovich made an interesting coaching move in Game 5. As he sensed that his team was out of it, he benched his starters in the third quarter. That meant that Duncan, Parker and Manu Ginobili all had lighter workloads than normal, and therefore might make them fresh for Game 6.
Game 6 is really the entire series. If San Antonio loses this game, they will not win in Dallas in Game 7.
Two things need to happen. As mentioned, Hill needs to have a good game, which is doable, and the Spurs need to win the points in the paint battle, which they have in all but two games this series.
A lingering concern has to be Duncan, who was limited to just 15 points total in the last two games. The Spurs won with just a four-point effort from him in Game 4 but they need more from him.
It’s a tough call but look for the Mavericks to pull this one out on the road. They are just a tad younger and that will mean more as the series extends into Game 6.
NBA Playoff Bets: Mavericks
Phoenix Suns @ Portland Trail Blazers
Betting Odds: Trail Blazers -1The Phoenix Suns have been a bit of an enigma in this series. In their three wins, they have won by an average 22.3 points per game, which should indicate that they are significantly better than Portland. But then they still have two losses in this series.
The Trail Blazers have caught the Suns off-guard twice and it will be interesting to see if they have another ace up their sleeve. In Game 1, the Suns were sluggish and the Trail Blazers caught them off guard. In Game 4, the Blazers got their star guard Brandon Roy back and while online betting cappers know that he’s been very limited, he gave them an emotional boost.
But the Suns seem to have this series under control now. Winning at the Rose Garden twice in this series might be tricky, but they seem to have figured out the Blazers.
When they run, Portland simply can’t keep up and as they showed in the last game, Phoenix has the edge in depth.
This will be a tough game for Phoenix because Portland will go down swinging – especially at home – but sports betting sharps should expect to see Phoenix edge them out in the end.
