NCAA Basketball Betting – Stick With The Top 25 And Go Down The List This Weekend
With countless NCAA basketball and college football betting games being played this weekend, it is hard to distinguish where to lay the majority of your money. But with 19 of the top 25 teams in the nation in action on a busy Saturday, the best bet is to select a handful of the biggest favorites from that group and distribute the wagering evenly. That includes the bigger teams that are still facing opponents from smaller conferences, with a couple of games in particular to look forward to.
Loyola (MD) Greyhounds @ Georgetown Hoyas
Saturday, 12:00 PM ET
The No. 13 Georgetown Hoyas opened the season with seven straight wins before getting a little too confident heading in to their matchup with Temple, a game they lost 68-65 on the road last online football betting week. The Hoyas rebounded with a big 89-60 win over the Appalachian State Mountaineers, and will need to keep that effort going against the Greyhounds. Loyola is just 4-5 on the year, including 0-2 in the MAAC, but ended a three-game losing streak with a 65-42 win over Mount St. Mary’s. They’ll have a tough time matching up against any team from the Big East, nevermind one of its best.
Pick: Hoyas
Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs @ Louisville Cardinals
Saturday, 3:30 PM ET
Head coach Rick Pitino said before the online sportsbook betting season got underway that he expected his players would have lapses due to being a young team that is playing for a big program, so he wasn’t caught off guard when the Cardinals fell to Drexel 52-46 this past Tuesday. Pitino will however be very surprised if Louisville doesn’t rebound to take down Gardner-Webb, a 6-7 team from the Big South that has no business staying close with a team from the Big East.
Pick: Cardinals
Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks @ Pittsburgh Panthers
Saturday, 7:00 PM ET
The No. 8 Panthers had their perfect run cut off at 10 games by a talented team from Tennessee in an 83-76 loss on Saturday, and will look to take out their frustrations on 2-7 Maryland-Eastern. Pittsburgh has struggled with its shooting consistency this season, is ranked third in the nation in both rebounding and assists, and should be able to dominate the Short Hawks down low. Expect the Panthers to establish a large football betting lead early on, and play the first quarter and half lines if they are available.
Pick: Panthers
UC Santa Barbara Gauchos @ San Diego State Aztecs
Saturday, 10:00 PM ET
No. 10 San Diego State has had no trouble through the first 10 games of its season, and that isn’t likely to change any time soon. While the majority of its wins have come against smaller schools, a 79-76 win over Gonzaga and a couple of blowout victories over St. Mary’s and California are impressive. The Aztecs will continue their domination by spanking the Gauchos right back to the Big West.
Pick: Aztecs
