SEC Tournament Odds – SEC is Kentucky’s for the taking
March Madness betting players will be keeping an eye on the conference tournaments, as they will tell you a lot about a team’s state of mind when it comes to a one-and-done scenario. Speaking of one-and-done, Kentucky is a team powered by freshmen that may only be on campus for a year, but they’ll be looking to leave with both the SEC regular-season and tournament titles.

Favorites – SEC Tournament Odds
Kentucky are the favorites at -250, and they rolled to the SEC regular season crown with a 14-2 record. John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins are bonafide lottery picks, and coach John Calipari has done a great job at meshing an incredible array of young talent with the players that were already in Lexington. Tennessee and Vanderbilt are next at +300, and the Vols would get the edge here because of coach Bruce Pearl, who steered Tennessee to wins over Kentucky and Kansas, two No.1 teams. Tennessee’s wins came at home in Knoxville, and playing in Nashville gives them an advantage.
Darkhorse – SEC Tournament Odds
Ole Miss is listed at +1200, and the Rebels won their last four games of the season, following a stretch of five losses in six games. Chris Warren and Terrico White are an underrated guard duo, and Murphy Holloway could be a possible SEC Player of the Year candidate next season. Granted, the Rebels were beating teams with sub-.500 records at the end of the season, but as we’ll see in the next paragraph, momentum means a lot.
Bust – SEC Tournament Odds
Florida comes into the SEC tournament at +1000 in your sportsbook, and they lost their last three games, the Gators will be tough. After beating Tennesssee, the Gators lost at Georgia and Kentucky while falling to Vanderbilt at home, but all three were by fewer than eight points, so they’re coming up just short. The guard duo of Kenny Boyton and Erving Walker are young, but they’re not shy about shooting the basketball. But losing takes a toll on a team’s momentum, and the Gators don’t have much of it.
Pick – SEC Tournament Odds
The Wildcats have too much talent to lose this tournament, and even though they’re prone to lapses of concentration, Kentucky is the most explosive team in the country and can go on a 20-3 run to end a game faster than you can blink. Wall is a monster in transition, and Cousins and Patrick Patterson give Kentucky an edge in the post and on the glass. They should meet Vandy in the final, and they’ve already beaten the Commodores twice this season. Go with Kentucky.
