Texas A&M vs Baylor Betting Odds – Bears reverse home fortunes against Aggies
NCAA Basketball Odds: Pick Baylor |
Baylor could be a solid online betting dark horse the way their team is set up, and they’ve been strong at home like most teams, but for some reason they’ve had trouble with Texas A&M when the Aggies come to Waco. The two will meet at Ferrell Center on Wednesday, and with revenge on their mind from a recent loss to the Aggies, Baylor will make the Big 12 standings more interesting with a win.

| KEY STAT: Baylor has lost four of their last five at home against Texas A&M |
The Storyline: Texas A&M vs Baylor Betting Odds
The Aggies (19-7, 8-4) have won five of their last six, including a 60-56 victory at Iowa State, and they’re battling Kansas State for the second spot in the Big 12 behind Kansas. The Bears (20-6, 7-5) can pull even with the Aggies, but they’ll have to rebound from an 82-75 loss at Oklahoma State. Texas A&M will be going for the season sweep over Baylor, who have lost four of their last five at home against the Aggies.
Offensive Matchups: Texas A&M vs Baylor Betting Odds
The Aggies don’t do anything great, they’re awful from beyond the arc, and outside of Donald Sloan, Texas A&M doesn’t have anyone who frightens defenses. Khris Middleton stepped up with 14 points to lead the way at Iowa State, and that’s how they go about their business: get a solid game from Sloan and hope someone else steps up. They also don’t turn the ball over a lot.
The Bears like to get up and down the floor with LaceDarius Dunn and Tweety Carter, a pair of guards who haven’t met a shot they didn’t like. They combined for 39 points and 11 three-pointers at Oklahoma State, but they should try and find more touches for Ekpe Udoh, who is averaging a double-double in the post for Baylor.

Defensive Matchups: Texas A&M vs Baylor Betting Odds
Like their offense, the Texas A&M defense isn’t spectacular, but they make stop when they need to. They held Iowa State to 32.2% from the field, and they’re solid fundamentally, but you would like to see them hit the boards a little more, and that’s something they could work on ahead of the NCAA Tournament.
Baylor is far more likely to shut a team down because of Udoh, who is fourth in the nation in blocks. The Bears also rank in the top 10 in rebound margin because of Udoh, but you’d like to see the guards take a few more chances with Udoh backing them up.

Coaching Matchup: Texas A&M vs Baylor Betting Odds
Mark Turgeon has led the Aggies to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in each of his first two years at College Station, but he may have less talent to work with than ever before. Turgeon has the Aggies playing within their limits, but you have to think those limits will catch up sometime.
Scott Drew could be in for his best year at Baylor after losing to Penn State in the NIT Final last year, and the Bears really flew under the radar until they won at Texas on January 30th. Now, Baylor may be a team no one wants to face in the NCAA Tournament if their guards get hot.

Betting Prediction: Texas A&M vs Baylor Betting Odds
The Bears should be the sportsbook favorites at home, where they are 13-1, while the Aggies are 4-4 away from College State. The Aggies have won four of their last five in Waco, but Baylor protected their homecourt with a 72-68 win last Valentine’s Day. On February 6th, the Aggies fought hard for a 78-71 home win over the Bears, as Sloan had 20, while Bryan Davis stepped up with 22 points. Carter had an off-day shooting the ball, but that won’t stop him from doing it again. Ultimately, homecourt is the key, and there’s no trust in Texas A&M’s form away from home, even with their history at Baylor.
Washington’s Pick: Baylor
