UConn vs Missouri odds – Thabeet will dominate both ends of the floor
The Elite Eight round of March Madness betting features a battle between two seems who have arguably exceeded expectations in the Connecticut vs Missouri odds. UConn had to dominate to justify its No. 1 seed in the Tournament, whereas Missouri was viewed by many as an afterthought before beating two esteemed opponents.
So will UConn keep steamrolling its competition or will Missouri keep surprising everyone?
UConn vs Missouri odds – Saturday, March 28
- Hasheem Thabeet has been a force on both ends of the floor for UConn
- J.T. Tiller stepping up his play for Missouri
- UConn still scoring points without Jerome Dyson
Late in the NCAA basketball betting season, many fans thought UConn was in over its head entering March Madness and even wondered if it deserved its No. 1 seed after Selection Sunday. Can you blame anyone for thinking that at the time? After all, UConn had lost star guard Jerome Dyson to injury and crumbled twice against Pittsburgh.
Well, few teams have silenced their critics like UConn so far on March Madness odds. The Huskies dismantled their opponents by an average victory margin of 41 points in the first two rounds. Purdue pushed UConn harder in the Sweet 16 but UConn still outclassed the Boilermakers, largely due to a virtuoso performance by ultimate defensive stopper Hasheem Thabeet. The 7’3” monster blocked four shots and scored UConn’s first eight points in the second-half against Purdue. He’ll be counted on to post another double-double versus Missouri.
Thabeet headlines a classic power-versus-speed matchup, as UConn now faces the “Fastest 40 Minutes in Basketball” against Missouri. The Tigers love to run and their up-tempo game has been so effective that it even overpowered defensively sound Memphis, which allowed 102 points in their loss to Missouri. The Tigers may not have a defensive answer to Thabeet in the UConn vs Missouri odds, but they’re a deep team that gets great scoring from its bench and had double-digit point contributions from all five starters against Memphis. There’s almost no point trying to drive on Thabeet, so the Tigers will have to rely on some strong outside shooting from Matt Lawrence and Leo Lyons.
WASHINGTON’S PICK: My hat goes off to the Missouri Tigers, who have perhaps been the most exciting team to watch in March Madness betting this year. But UConn has been in a class of its own in this tournament and Thabeet is carrying the team on his broad shoulders. Missouri won’t have an answer for him. On UConn vs Missouri odds, bet on UConn to reach the Final Four.
