Get those tap-dance shoes out of the closet sweetheart, “Dancing With The Stars” odds are back. The rosters have been announced, the sportsbook odds have been posted and the music is going to start playing on Monday, March 9. It should be an excellent season, so strap on your dancing shoes and let’s break down all the odds for the upcoming year!
Surprisingly, in the seven previous seasons of “Dancing With The Stars”, a female celebrity has won just three times. But as I predicted in my last “Dancing With The Stars” betting article, Brooke Burke won season seven and now the femmes have won two straight.
Shawn Johnson, Nancy O’Dell, Lil Kim, Jewel, Denise Richards and Belinda Carlisle will carry pride flag for the females in season eight but none of them are favored in the event.

I have a hunch that it will be a female again. An interesting note to examine for serious betting handicappers is that in five of the seven seasons, the winning celebrity has either been partnered with a Hough or Cheryl Burke.
Cheryl Burke won twice (with Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith), Julianne Hough won twice (with Apollo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves) and Derek Hough won once (with Brooke Burke). This season, Cheryl Burke is partnered with Gilles Marini, Julianne Hough is partnered with Chuck Wicks while Derek Hough is partnered with Lil Kim.
According to the entertainment betting odds, the favorites for the tournament are Olympic gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson (+150) and soap opera actor Gilles Marini (+200). Johnson is helping the male-female moneyline on the event, which favors the females at -175.
Lil Kim presents good odds at +300. She might have to work on her athleticism after spending a year in jail but it’s easy to trust her more than anyone else on this cast. She is a Grammy Award winning rapper and she’s shaken that booty on many occasions.
SUMMER’S PICK: “Dancing With The Stars” betting is one of my favorite sporting events of the year. As a three-to-one, it’s hard not to like Lil Kim and, while she’s my pick to win it all, the safer pick is to bet that a female will win it.
