Bet Clemson Tigers – Parker’s Play The Key
2009 Clemson Tigers Betting Recap
Death Valley experienced new life in 2009 as the combination of new head coach Dabo Swinney and the infusion of redshirt freshman quarterback Kyle Parker into the lineup. With Parker finally providing some stellar play at the position – especially as NCAA football betting fans watched him improve over the year – along with the spectacular production from all-world running back C.J. Spiller in the backfield, the Tigers developed into an ACC contender.
They managed to make a run for the ACC Championship game but online betting fans saw them in a little over their heads against Georgia Tech. For a team that had traditionally underachieved and consistently fallen short of expectations, they weren’t used to – or really sure – about how to react when they finally put themselves in position where they want to be.
It was a very productive year for the Tigers, though, and if Parker is back for the next three years, the Tigers will be a contender in the ACC in each one of those.
2010 Preview To Bet Clemson
But the question that sports betting fans in Death Valley are asking themselves is whether Parker will actually return?
He is expected to be a high draft pick in the upcoming MLB Draft and he’s going to have to make a choice. The likelihood is that he continues to play football and be the start-in-the-making that most expect him to be at Clemson.
The Tigers biggest task in 2010 will be to replace Spiller, who was the team’s best offensive weapon. Replacing him is like replacing Reggie Bush, but most people don’t have too much of a concern as long as Parker is back.
Jamie Harper looks like he’s ready for a breakout season, which will soften the blow. While the attention is on Spiller, they also lost receiver Jacoby Ford and tight end Michael Palmer. While the Tigers return seven starters on offense, overall they lose the game breakers. The good news is the offensive line should be strong, which will be the foundation of all of their success.
The Tigers have plenty returning on defense – six starters – so there will be consistency there as well.
If Parker is back, expect the Tigers to be very competitive once again but if not, a positive 2009 could turn into a rebuilding – or trying – 2010.
