Internet sportsbook odds makers will be gearing up for one of the busiest times of year, as NFL playoff betting action begins this Saturday for online sports betting players. Sports wagering action kicks off in the AFC in San Diego, where the AFC West champion Chargers will host the league’s hottest team in Indianapolis, and Colts vs Chargers odds are giving the betting edge to the team on a nine-game winning streak.

The Colts (12-4) came in second to Tennessee in the AFC South, but they enter the playoffs having won their last nine games and they shut out the Titans 23-0 at home to close out the regular season. After an indifferent start, Peyton Manning picked up his numbers at the end of the year, passing for over 4,000 yards for the ninth time in his illustrious career, and his average quarterback rating in his last four games was 135.8. The defense did its share, ranking 11th in the NFL despite a number of injuries to key players.

The Chargers (8-8) won their last three, while Denver lost their last two, to set up a showdown in San Diego on the final Sunday night of the regular season to decide the champion of the woeful AFC West. The Chargers rolled to a 52-21 mauling over their bitter rivals, and Phillip Rivers got revenge for being overlooked for the Pro Bowl in favor of Jay Cutler. Rivers finished the season as the league’s highest-rated passer, but he had to be efficient as San Diego’s defense finished 25th in the NFL, showing that they missed injured linebacker Shawne Merriman terribly.

STAN’S PICK: Colts vs Chargers odds have Indianapolis as a one-point NFL playoff betting favorite on the road, and the Colts have already won in San Diego this year, edging the Chargers 23-20 on a last-second 51-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri in Week 12. The Chargers’ offense has averaged over 37 points during their four-game winning streak, while the Colts have held three of their last five opponents to six points or less. The Colts will be eager to return the favor after last year’s upset at home to San Diego in the postseason, so bet online with the Indianapolis Colts this Saturday night.
