Arkansas Razorbacks Betting – Razorbacks Look To Find Identity With Mallett Gone
Bobby Petrino will once again have his work cut out for him in 2011. If his Arkansas Razorbacks are going to have any shot at winning a division title and perhaps more, then he will need to find a way to make sure that an offense that ranked ninth in the country a year ago makes a smooth transition without the starting quarterback that led them a year ago. Following Ryan Mallett’s transition to the NFL, the Razorbacks will hand the keys to young Tyler Wilson, and how well that change is handled will go a long way in determining how far Arkansas will go this coming season.
Wilson has a ton of talent to be sure, but he may not have the big arm and quick delivery of his predecessor Mallett. An accurate thrower that can guide an offense with his intelligence and instincts, Wilson is able to make most of the throws but could become rattled at times if he faces a ton of pressure. He’ll get help from one of the best groups of receivers in the country with Joe Adams, Jarius Wright, and Cobi Hamilton lining up along the line of scrimmage. Hamilton is a threat to go deep on every play, while Adams and Wright both have terrific speed and can work over the middle. The wild card on offense is Greg Childs, who will be coming off of major knee surgery. Childs can be an elite receiver if healthy, but there are too many question marks about his health at this point. Knile Davis led the SEC in rushing yards among running backs a year ago with 1,322 yards, and will be spelled by another quality back in Ronnie Wingo. The offensive mastermind Petrino has a ton of weapons, and now he will need to put the pieces altogether once again to turn the Razorbacks into a sports betting machine.
Defensively, Arkansas may be one of the more underrated teams in the country. Simply due to the fact that the offense consistently gets so much attention, fans have failed to pay attention to the talent level on the other side of the ball. The play on defense begins with a line that rivals the best that the SEC has to offer, with Byran Jones, Robert Thomas, Alfred Davis, and Lavunce Askew all part of a rotation that can both stop the run and get after the passer. Defensive end Jake Beaquette led the team with seven sacks a year ago, and is back for one more season. The Razorbacks rose 53 spots to No. 36 in the country a year ago, and there is no online casino reason to think their progress won’t continue.
The Razorbacks will have a tough road to a potential conference title once again, with Alabama and LSU both seeded ahead of them once again. Arkansas will face a couple of really tough tests in road games against both the Crimson Tide and Tigers which could hold them back, but this team has the potential to rank in the top-25 all sports betting bonus season.
