Bet Florida State Seminoles – Things Are Looking Up In Tallahassee

2009 Florida State Seminoles Betting Recap
Online betting players got to see the farewell tour of Bobby Bowden, who finished his 34-year run in Tallahassee with a 7-6 record which was concluded by a 33-21 win over West Virginia (where Bowden began his coaching career) in the Gator Bowl. The Seminoles also lost defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews, who had been at Florida State since 1984, and he would have been disappointed by the defense’s performance in his final season as the Seminoles were 108th in the nation in that category. Starting quarterback Christian Ponder was injured for the last three games of the season with an ailing shoulder, which hurt an offense that was really getting it going.
The Seminoles just couldn’t get enough consistency going to be a solid NCAA football betting pick, as they dropped four of their first six, and then won four of their final six. The highlight of the season was a 54-28 romp at BYU in their third game of the year, while the lowlights had to be a crushing loss at home to Miami in the season opener, before they were routed at Florida in their finale.
2010 Preview To Bet Florida State
Jimbo Fisher takes over the reins after being the coach-in-waiting under Bowden for what seemed like forever, and he’ll have 10 starters back on offense, including Ponder, who has to keep his interceptions down. He’ll also need a new No.1 target as Rod Owens is gone, and the Seminoles’ aerial attack will be the key to their sportsbook odds, along with an improved defense. FSU was in disarray on that side of the ball, and they may have lost their big-impact players in Patrick and Jamie Robinson in the secondary, as well as linebacker Dekoda Watson. There are still six returning starters back, and they’re led by new coordinator Mark Stoops, the younger brother to Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, as well as Arizona State’s Mike Stoops.
Speaking of Oklahoma, Mike will reunite with Bob as the Seminoles head to Norman on September 11th, while BYU looks to avenge their home loss to FSU when they travel to Tallahassee the next week. The October 9th visit from Miami should be highly charged as the two look to get their rivalry back to the days of the early 90s, when they were two of the top programs in the country. November 6th’s visit from North Carolina should be interesting, and of course, the Seminoles will have a chance to snap their six-game losing skid to Florida when the Gators come to town on November 27th.
Sports betting players shouldn’t be surprised if the Seminoles come away with the ACC Atlantic title this season to earn a spot in the conference title game. Their offense should be even more powerful than last year, and the defense doesn’t even need to gamble to make big plays, they just have to stop giving up the big plays. Most of their toughest games come at home, and their toughest competition is Clemson, who lost the electrifying C.J. Spiller. Sports betting players should take a chance on Florida State.
