Bet Louisville Cardinals – Cardinals In For A Strong Makeover

2009 Louisville Cardinals Betting Recap
It hasn’t been a pretty scene in Louisville since Bobby Petrino bolted for the NFL (and then returned to college football) as they have never really recovered. Once a National Championship contender, now the Cardinals are simply lost at sea a little bit as Steve Kragthorpe turned out to be a disastrous hire for the program.
He entered 2009 on the hot seat and online betting fans knew he didn’t do himself – or the program – any favors. After a win against Indiana State to start the year, Louisville followed that up with losses in five of their next six games. As a matter of fact, they only won a total of three more games the rest of the way. While they seemed to be within a score or two in a number of games, the reality is that they never looked good in any aspect of their game or in any game overall.
Their four wins came against Indiana State, Arkansas State, Southern Mississippi and Syracuse – their last three wins coming by a total of 11 points.
At the end of the year, Kragthorpe simply had to go and the Cardinals needed to strong their identity and direction.
2010 Preview To Bet Louisville Cardinals
Florida Gators defensive coordinator Charlie Strong now takes over the Cardinals program and immediately, he has restored a lot of enthusiasm on the field and optimism off of it.
It’s been three years since the Cardinals went to a bowl game so the expectations aren’t enormous, but Strong needs to change the direction. And he will.
The offense was pitiful last year so not much has to happen for it to improve. There are a number of options at quarterback and the running back role looks strong with Bilal Powell. If the offensive line comes together, the Cardinals will be in much better shape.
On defense is where NCAA football betting cappers are expecting a big impact. Strong was the face of the Gators defense and he alone should make a huge impact on the Cardinals unit.
The Cardinals should be far more aggressive and there will definitely be some new vigor. Whether they have the right personnel is another question.
Overall, there will be a fresh atmosphere in Louisville and considering they only won four games last year and haven’t been to a bowl game in three years, impressing this season shouldn’t be too hard.
