Bet Miami Hurricanes – “The U” Continues Comeback On The National Stage

2009 Miami Hurricanes Betting Recap
The Hurricanes shocked the online betting world last year with an amazing start against four ranked teams, beating Florida State and Georgia Tech on the road, along with a home win over Oklahoma and a loss at Virginia Tech. Their three losses against Clemson, North Carolina and Wisconsin came by a combined 18 points, but still, coach Randy Shannon receives credit for navigating the Hurricanes through a hellish opening stretch, and he got a contract extension in the offseason.
Miami was balanced on both sides of the ball, coming in 45th on offense, and 29th on defense. Quarterback Jacory Harris had four games with 300 yards or more, which led to the Hurricanes scoring 30 points or more in seven games last year. The defense was inconsistent all season, but overall, it was a solid unit in their first year under coordinator John Lovett. However, they weren’t as good to NCAA football betting players, as they were 6-6 ATS in 2009.
2010 Preview To Bet Miami Hurricanes
Shannon will be under pressure to continue his improvement of the Miami program, but the Hurricanes are in for another wild start to the season as they follow a home game against Florida A&M with three straight road games at Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Clemson before Florida State comes to town for another edition of their bitter Sunshine State rivalry. Two weeks later, Miami will welcome North Carolina to town, and if they can manage to get through the first part of the season, the closing stretch is very favorable for players who want to take the Hurricanes in their sportsbook as three of their last four games are at home against Maryland, Virginia Tech and South Florida, along with a road trip to Georgia Tech.
Miami will bring back 14 starters to campus this year, including six on offense. Harris should be fully recovered from a thumb injury that kept him out for spring practice, but even if he’s not healthy, he has an extremely deep group of running backs in the backfield with Lamar Miller, Storm Johnson and Damien Berry, and that’s not counting Graig Cooper, who is recovering from a knee injury. Leonard Hankerson is back as Harris’ favorite target, but including Hankerson, Miami has their top five receivers back. The offensive line will have to step up though, as the Hurricanes were 100th in sacks allowed. There are eight starters back on defense, but the middle-linebacker position is a trouble spot.
The Hurricanes are worth a sports betting pick to win the ACC, and a 10-win season isn’t out of the question, but they have to first get through a treacherous opening to their 2010 campaign.
