Boise State Georgia Betting – Broncos Face Tough Test In Opener At Georgia
It is never easy to go on the road and take down a BCS opponent in a season opener, just don’t tell that to the Boise State Broncos. Arguably the most exciting team in college football, the Broncos will look to make it three straight season-opening wins against BCS opponents when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs at the dome on Saturday night. It won’t be nearly as easy this time however, as Boise State has never beaten an opponent from the SEC in the history of its sports betting bonus program.
(5) Boise State Broncos @ Georgia Bulldogs (19)
Saturday September 3, 2011 – 8 PM ET
Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia
College Sports Betting Lines: Boise State – 3.5
While the Bulldogs aren’t nearly as flashy as teams like Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide, they are considered among the favorites to potentially earn a spot in the SEC title game. The weapons are there for Georgia to succeed, and it is now about playing with focus and urgency from the opening kickoff.
College Football Betting Preview: Boise State
The Broncos feel they have every reason to be confident heading into this game, and a big part of that is Heisman trophy finalist Kellen Moore, who will once again lead the offense. Moore is in his final season at Boise State, and would like nothing more than to go out on top as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and competing for BCS glory once again. The Broncos’ signal-caller has the chance to become the winningest quarterback in major-college history, and with so many weapons around him once again there is little reason to think that he won’t succeed. Boise State did lose Austin Pettus and Titus Young to the NFL though, and Moore will have to operate without looking for the guidance of former offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin, who left for Texas in the offseason.
College Football Betting Preview: Georgia
While he can’t even be considered in the same class as Moore at this point in his career, Bulldogs’ quarterback Andy Murray feels that he has all of the weapons he needs to succeed long term. A consistent pocket-passer that understands how to move the offense, Murray is looking to take another step forward. The offense will get a big boost if the rushing attack can improve after ranking a surprising tenth in the SEC a year ago, and a big part of that online casino responsibility falls on Isaiah Crowell. The offensive line also needs to be better, which is something the Georgia coaches are confident about.
College Football Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
For as good as the Broncos have been over the past couple of seasons, there is a lot of change that they will have to adjust to on the fly. Boise State is known for its spectacular upsets, but they are actually considered the sports betting bonus favorites in this game and may not be able to cover the 3.5 points.
College Football Betting Pick: Georgia Bulldogs + 3.5
