Clemson Florida State Betting – ‘Noles Run Over Tigers In Tallahassee
Online betting players don’t know what to think about the Florida State Seminoles, who have lost two in a row as well as their grip on the ACC Atlantic. But the Seminoles should fix that on Saturday night in Tallahassee when they host Clemson, who have some injuries on both sides of the ball. With their star quarterback ailing, look for Florida State to pound the Tigers with their ground attack.
- What: NCAA football betting
- When: Saturday, November 13th, 8:00 PM ET
- Where: Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL
- Pick: Florida State -7
What’s On The Line
The Tigers (5-4, 3-3) kept their name in the ACC Atlantic race by edging the North Carolina State Wolfpack 14-13 at home, while the Seminoles (6-3, 4-2) gave another game away with a 37-35 loss at home on account of two missed field goals in the fourth quarter. Despite this, the Seminoles are still atop the Atlantic, but there is no more room for error ahead of a showdown with the Maryland Terrapins next week. This game is huge when it comes to the Atlantic race.
Offensive Matchups: Clemson Florida State Betting
Clemson’s offense is suspect at best, especially on the road. The Tigers are ranked 89th in the nation offensively, and they were poor against North Carolina State, putting up 260 yards with three turnovers. Losing running back Andre Ellington to injury hasn’t helped, which puts even more pressure on quarterback Kyle Parker, who was 20-of-29 for 214 yards, a touchdown and a pick last week. The Tigers’ main goal will be to keep him upright against a Florida State pass rush that leads the nation in sacks.
Christian Ponder had a great game against North Carolina, going 24-of-34 for 264 yards and three touchdowns with no picks, and he looked a lot like the guy who was a Heisman candidate before the season started. The problem is, Ponder may miss this game with an ailing elbow after leaving Tuesday’s practice in a sling, which hands the reins over to E.J. Manuel. This would be a good time for the Seminoles to go back to a ground game that is 24th in the country.

Defensive Matchups: Clemson Florida State Betting
The Tigers are ranked 35th in the country on this side of the ball, but they’re only 58th against the run, which could be targeted by Florida State. They’ve been missing a couple of linemen due to injury and they’re listed as questionable for this week, but the Tigers should have safety Carlton Lewis back in the lineup. Clemson did well to hold the Wolfpack to 275 yards, but they’re going to need a big game from end Da’Quan Bowers, who leads the country in sacks.
As we said, the Seminoles have a fierce pass rush, but the secondary can be susceptible to the big play and they were gouged by North Carolina for 439 yards through the air. The same thing happened two weeks ago at North Carolina State, and the secondary has to step up against a Clemson passing attack that isn’t very good. End Brandon Jenkins is sixth in the nation in sacks, and he needs to be a force on Saturday night.

Ellington (toe) is out for Clemson, while defensive tackle Miguel Chavis (ankle) and end Kourtnei Brown (ankle) are questionable. Lewis (jaw) and receiver Jaron Brown (ankle) are listed as probable.
Offensive guard David Spurlock (concussion) will miss another game, while everyone at Florida State is waiting on the status of Ponder (elbow).

Outlook and Pick: Clemson Florida State Betting
NCAA football betting odds have the Seminoles as a 7-point favorite at home, while some sports betting books have taken the line down until the status of Ponder is revealed. The Seminoles have won four of their last five against the Tigers in Tallahassee, and they’ve gone 4-1 ATS as well. We’re taking the Seminoles to end their two-game skid regardless of whether Ponder plays or not, and this game will be won on the ground. The Seminoles have a pair of solid running backs that can control the clock, and Clemson’s run defense leaves a lot to be desired. The Florida State defense has been terrible lately, but the Clemson offense doesn’t have the weapons to test them and their best weapon, Ellington, is out. Take the Seminoles in your sports betting book.
