Clemson vs South Carolina betting odds breakdown: What’s On The Line
The No.18 Tigers (8-3, 6-2) have clinched their first appearance in the ACC title game with a six-game winning streak, going for their first conference win since 1991. The Gamecocks (6-5, 3-5) are going through their annual late-season slide, losing three in a row. They’ve also lost eight of their last 10 against their bitter state rivals, including five of six at home. This is the longest interrupted rivalry in college football, and even though it doesn’t get the credit it deserves, it’ll be a hotly contested game that no one wants to lose.

Clemson vs South Carolina betting odds breakdown: Offense
Running back C.J. Spiller is one of the most electrifying players in the nation, and he’s a threat on the ground, through the air, and on special teams. He’s scored in every game except for one, and he’s shown what he can do when healthy, as Spiller has battled injury throughout his career. Kyle Parker has also shown a lot in his freshman year as the Tigers’ quarterback, but having Spiller in the backfield helps.
The Gamecocks haven’t scored more than 16 points in their last five games, and they may have used this bye week to work on some things. Sophomore quarterback Stephen Garcia needs to take care of the ball against an opportunistic Clemson defense, as he’s thrown at least one pick in five of his last six games. Even though they can move the ball, South Carolina has problems finishing the job.

Clemson vs South Carolina betting odds breakdown: Defense
The Tigers are 12th in the country, and only two teams have scored more than 24 points against Clemson. They’re second in picks behind Ohio State, and 11th in sacks, and they try to pressure the backfield as much as possible. However, they’re 41st in rushing defense, and they can be run on.
The South Carolina defense is keeping their team’s online betting odds alive, coming in 17th in the nation. But like Clemson, the run defense can be exposed, as they’re 63rd in the NCAA against the ground game. Linebacker Eric Norwood will be instrumental if the Gamecocks are going to slow Spiller down.

Clemson vs South Carolina betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
The Tigers will want to give the ball to Spiller as much as possible to control the game clock, and also take pressure off of their freshman pivot. Clemson is 6-4 ATS against South Carolina in their last 10, and they’re 3-1 ATS on the road this year, while South Carolina is 3-2 ATS at home, and 1-2 as an ATS favorite. Thanks to Spiller and a tough defense, the Tigers will go into the ACC title game with a rivalry win.
