LSU vs Georgia odds maker breakdown: What’s On The Line
The LSU Tigers (4-0, 2-0) have climbed up to No. 4 in the nation but that’s more by default than anything else. The Tigers escaped Mississippi State last week with a win after stuffing the Bulldogs on the goal line on fourth down. The Tigers are good team in the SEC, but they are about even with Georgia. If they want to show otherwise, they’ll have to do it on the field this Saturday because online betting cappers haven’t seen much of a difference to this point. The Georgia Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0) seem like a tough team to figure out, but realistically, it just took them a couple of games to recover from the losses of Matt Stafford and Knowshon Moreno. The Bulldogs have had a very difficult schedule to start the year but they are in a groove right now. They are starting to click, and with LSU potentially looking ahead to Florida next week, the Bulldogs should be able to get the win. Betting Edge: Even
LSU vs Georgia odds maker breakdown: Offense
The LSU offense was supposed to be better than this. Last week, the Tigers finished with just 30 rushing yards and that’s not going to work if they want to beat Georgia on the road. The offense has been somewhat of a disappointment this year. They are still a good unit, but as a whole, they have been inconsistent. With Jordan Jefferson, Charles Scott and Brandon LaFell, not many NCAA football betting fans thought the Tigers would have consistency problems. The good news is that they are still moving the ball methodically and aren’t making mistakes. Similarly, Georgia is also having some problems running the ball. They totaled 92 yards on 31 carries but even so, the Bulldogs have scored 113 points over their last three games. The Bulldogs passing game is working very well right now and A.J. Green has been a big problem for opposing defenses, but the turnovers are a concern. The Bulldogs have given up 12 in their first four games. Betting Edge: LSU
LSU vs Georgia odds maker breakdown: Defense
The LSU defense is getting a little bit better each week, which is key. They have a new defensive coordinator in John Chavis running the show, and it’s taken them some time to adjust. They only have four sacks on the year - which is a concern as they are getting set to face a pretty good passing team - but they are fairly sound everywhere else. The Bulldogs defense has been similar to the LSU defense: they can’t generate pressure, but they have looked better in recent weeks. The Bulldogs got by Arizona State last week and while the defense carried them, not many people thought that Arizona State would have a chance in the contest. Like the offense, this defense is still a work in progress. Betting Edge: Even
LSU vs Georgia odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
The Tigers are fairly healthy while the Bulldogs have some minor bumps and bruises. Defensive back Vance Cuff (knee) and defensive end Kiante Tripp (shoulder) did not play against Arizona State. Keep an eye on their status for this week. Betting Edge: LSU
LSU vs Georgia State betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
This is a tough contest to pick. Both offenses are better than the defenses they’ll be facing, which means we should see plenty of points in this game. While LSU is shaky as the No. 4 team in the nation, this isn’t the place where they’ll get upended. They won’t look ahead to Florida next week because of how poorly they played on the road last week. The difference will be a couple of Georgia turnovers that LSU turns into points and escapes with a victory. BLAKE’S PICK: LSU +3
