LSU Mississippi State Betting – Mississippi State Faces Early Gut Check Against LSU
While LSU looks like one of the two or three best college football teams in the United States, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are in desperate need of a win this coming Thursday night.

Why LSU Will Win
The community of MLB baseball betting experts in the Deep South is currently immersed in an attempt to figure out why the Atlanta Braves are plummeting back to earth, thereby allowing the St. Louis Cardinals to stay in the race for the National League wild card playoff berth. Those experts might not be paying too much attention to college football, but they probably know that LSU is one of the elite teams in the United States, at least in the early going. The Tigers bet big and hit the jackpot by playing and then beating a top-five opponent in the form of the Oregon Ducks. LSU mashed Oregon by a score of 40-27 (the game wasn’t nearly that close) because the Bayou Bengals hammered the Ducks up front. LSU caused four separate fumbles by the Ducks and administered the clear majority of hits on the evening in suburban Dallas. While being aggressive on defense, LSU simplified its plan on offense because it felt it was able to push around Oregon at the line of scrimmage. That belief was well founded, and as a result, Tiger quarterback Jarrett Lee felt very comfortable in the pocket. Lee was inserted into the lineup as the starting quarterback when the regular starter, Jordan Jefferson, was arrested just before the start of the season. Panic flowed through much of the college football world in response to this development, but LSU and head coach Les Miles adjusted very naturally and calmly to the situation. That calmness rubbed off on the Tigers themselves; they didn’t look very unsettled or anxious in their slow and steady smackdown against and Oregon team that made last season’s BCS National Championship Game.
Why Mississippi State Will Win
When you consider a sports bet in this SEC West encounter, the big thing to realize is that Mississippi State just got smacked around by a hungrier and more committed Auburn team on September 10. Auburn looked very shaky after its close-shave opener against Utah State, but against Mississippi State, Auburn flexed its muscles and controlled the point of attack in the second half. Mississippi State has to be tougher on the line of scrimmage, but it does have the advantage of playing at home in this game. Moreover, MSU’s desperation in this contest will actually fuel the Bulldogs and give them an extra motivational push. LSU wants to win every game it plays, but Mississippi State really needs this game. Need exceeds want, so that’s a very credible reason to think that the Bulldogs will pull off the upset.
Who Will Win
LSU is simply too powerful, deep and strong in the trenches for Mississippi State. The Bulldogs, playing at home, will put up a good fight against their foes from Louisiana, but the visiting Tigers should be able to punch MSU in the mouth.
