St. Louis Rams Betting – Rams Continue To Improve, But Tough Schedule Holds Them Back
It has been quite some time since football fans in Missouri experienced the high-flying offenses of the “Greatest Show On Turf”, a spectacle in which they were spoiled by Pro Bowl talents such as Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce on the outside, while Marshall Faulk ran hard both between and off tackle. Over a decade later, many within the St. Louis Rams’ organization feel as though they have put together a roster that is one or two pieces away from becoming a perennial contender once again, and with a relatively weak NFC West up for grabs, fans feel that 2011-12 may be the season that their team finally gets back into the postseason. The Rams fell just short on the final day of the season a sports betting year ago, when they lost to the rival Seattle Seahawks in the final game of the season to concede the NFC West title and a playoff berth. With stability at head coach, a quality franchise quarterback, and continues improvement on the defensive side of the ball, St. Louis has all the makings of a team on the rise, but a tough schedule may stand in their way this coming season.
The Rams have plenty to be excited about with young Sam Bradford showing a ton of confidence and poise from in the pocket. Bradford threw for over 3,500 yards and 18 touchdowns in his rookie season, rewarding management in St. Louis for taking him in the first round. It wasn’t pretty at times, but with running back Stephen Jackson working hard beside him in the Rams’ backfield, the offense was able to put together some spectacular drives over the course of the online casino season. The defense made strides as well, as St. Louis climbed into the middle-third of the league in terms of both run and pass defense, including 17th overall against the rush. However, for as good as St. Louis looked last season, they still have to show progress in a couple of key areas if they are going to compete for a division title. The Rams will need to do a better job with consistency on offense, while getting more pressure against opposition quarterbacks on defense in passing situations. A tough schedule that includes three of their first four games against teams that made the playoffs a year ago will make for a tough start, and it won’t get any easier with trips to Lambeau and Cowboys Stadium following their bye week. The Rams could stay in the conversation for a division title once again if they manage to get the job done within the NFC West, but for at least one more year the playoffs are something that will be left up to their MLB team in the St. Louis area.
