NFL Betting Odds – Chargers Still Best In AFC West
Bet sports – San Diego Chargers
- Philip Rivers ready to be a franchise quarterback
- Vincent Jackson and Chris Chambers give Chargers best wideout tandem in years
- Can anyone give San Diego Chargers a challenge in AFC West?
NFL odds show that the San Diego Chargers are favored in the AFC West and right fully so. With nine Pro Bowlers returning, anything but a Super Bowl run would be considered disappointing.
The AFC West has become one of the weakest divisions as the Chargers have come to power. The Oakland Raiders are still toiling in the basement, the Kansas City Chiefs are rebuilding while the Denver Broncos are seemingly stuck in mediocrity.
Meanwhile, the Chargers return a very young roster that should only be stronger after the experience gained from last season.
Philip Rivers is a young quarterback who appears ready to be one of the premier leaders in the league, LaDainian Tomlinson is still among the league's most valuable players, Antonio Gates is finally healthy and the Chargers will have a full seasons with Vincent Jackson and Chris Chambers together. The tandem seem poised to become one of the better duos in the AFC.
On defense, the Chargers return Shawne Merriman, Shaun Phillips, Antonio Cromartie, Quentin Jammer, Eric Weddle and Luis Castillo. That's a cast that will have the Chargers among the best in the NFL.
NFL betting odds had the Chargers as big underdogs against the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots in the 2007 postseason but the Chargers beat the Colts
NFL sportsbook odds also have the Chargers regular season win total at 10.5
Outside of trips to New England, New Orleans and Pittsburgh, and a home contest against Indianapolis, the Chargers don't have any real hurdles on their schedule. Even if they lose all four of those games and additional one, they will still hit the over.
