The Detroit Lions are rumored to be in negotiations with former Georgia quarterback Matt Stafford, who by now is the odds-on favorite to be the first pick overall in the 2009 NFL Draft according to the sportsbook. The questions is: will the Lions draft him or will they trade down? They need a new face for their franchise and Stafford makes the most sense.

By now, it’s fairly clear that Matt Stafford will be the first pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. While there might be some questions as to whether who will take him and whether the Lions will trade down, there is very little question regarding what position goes off the board first. It will be a quarterback.

NFL Draft props: Which team will draft Mark Sanchez?
While Matt Stafford is considered to be the top quarterback in this class, Mark Sanchez is clearly No. 2 on the list. The teams on this list, though, don’t have a pick higher than No. 10 overall, which means the field might be a good value pick.
This is a very shallow quarterback class, and if Stafford is truly taken first overall, then Sanchez won’t likely fall out of the Top 5. There just aren’t many contingency plans later in the draft at quarterback, and teams like Seattle and Cleveland probably can’t afford to pass on him.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS -160
DENVER BRONCOS +250
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS +250
FIELD +300
NFL Draft props: Which team will draft Michael Crabtree?
While many people are expecting Michael Crabtree and the Oakland Raiders to be a match made in heaven, the reality is Crabtree might not even fall that far. The Cleveland Browns are looking to trade Braylon Edwards and the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to ship off Chad Johnson, which could amplify both teams’ needs for a wide receiver.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS +250
CLEVELAND BROWNS +450
CINCINNATTI BENGALS +400
