NFL football teasers – the best teasers for Week 2 NFL action
Internet sportsbook betting – NFL Week 2 offers intriguing matchups
- Indianapolis Colts look to rebound in Minnesota
- Detroit Lions aim for a better performance in home opener
- St. Louis Rams playing for head coach’s job at home
Indianapolis Colts (-1.5) @ Minnesota Vikings – Sunday, 1:00 PM ET at The Metrodome
The Indianapolis Colts didn’t just lose to the Chicago Bears in their opening week, they were pummeled. The Bears dominated them on defense and ran them into the ground on offense. Now they head to a team that can do both of those things better.
The Vikings have a better running game with the tandem of Adrian Peterson and the Chester Taylor, and their defense will likely play much better now that they are at home.
If the running game is absent for a second consecutive week and Peyton Manning is forced to carry the team, the results might be similar.

Green Bay Packers (-3) @ Detroit Lions – Sunday, 1:00 PM ET at Ford Field
The Green Bay Packers looked like a very strong outfit in Week One but now Aaron Rodgers has to make his first career road start. On the flipside, Detroit is notoriously known as a poor road team, something everyone seems to forget until it gets smacked around.
The Lions are back in their cozy confines and they still have a decent team. They deserve to be home dogs but they should put forth a much better performance in their home opener.
The Lions defense was heavily maligned after giving up more than 300 yards rushing so look for them to make some adjustments and plug some gaps this week.

New York Giants (-8.5) @ St. Louis Rams – Sunday, 1:00 PM ET at the Edward Jones Dome
Few teams looked worse than the St. Louis Rams last week and few teams looked better than the New York Giants. Logically, the Giants, who have won their last 12 road games, should pimp slap the Rams fairly easily.
The Rams are discombobulating as we speak. Head coach Scott Linehan is like a head coach by title only and looks lost on the sidelines on a weekly basis. Quarterback Marc Bulger, who was once a Pro Bowler and among the premier passers in the NFL, now looks like a fringe starter.
There are problems in St. Louis and until Linehan is fired, NFL teaser betting sharps should tease down the big spreads and bet against them.

Stan Simmons first tasted football through the college game, but his football handicapping has strictly focused on the professional sport. Not many people devote as much time to the NFL as Simmons. For six days a week he works, labors and handicaps the sport, and on the seventh he rests as the games play out. Thoughts or questions?
