Vick has been sidelined since breaking two ribs in a 21-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and his return couldn’t come at a better time as it really seemed as though the players stopped responding to back up Vince Young in last week’s loss at Seattle. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson was scolded both by the staff and by the media for his lack of effort in last week’s loss, and even with Vick back it’s hard to predict what to expect of the Pro Bowl wide receiver. Even if the offense is better, Philadelphia will need its defense to step up, particularly in the front-seven where they will be tasked with slowing down Reggie Bush and the Dolphins’ rushing attack.

That rushing attack has been a big part of Miami’s recent success, as they have now won four of their last five, including last week’s win over the Oakland Raiders in which the Dolphins registered 209 total rushing yards. Bush had 100 yards and a touchdown on just 22 carries, while Daniel Thomas added another 73 and Miami was able to control the pace of the game. Quarterback Matt Moore isn’t the most flashy quarterback, but he gets the job done with Bush and Thomas opening things up for him underneath and he doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. The Dolphins’ defense ranks fifth against the run, so it will be up to Vick to lead the Philly air attack if they are going to have any shot this week on the road.
