Betting On Jaguars Titans – Titans Look To Find Life Against Jaguars In Must-Win Game
It doesn’t get much worse than it did for the Tennessee Titans last week when they conceded the perfect opportunity to gain some ground in the AFC Wild Card race against the previously-winless Indianapolis Colts, only to come up short and fall to 7-7 on the season, remaining one game back of the final playoff spot. Then again, the Titans are back at home this week to host a Jacksonville Jaguars’ team that has won just four games all year, and another loss at home would definitely make things worse for the Titans and their sports betting fans.

NFL Betting Lines: Tennessee Titans – 8
While the Jaguars have looked awful at times this season, they did blow away the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-14 just two weeks ago, and they did beat the Titans 16-14 at home to open their season. Jacksonville plays tough defense and are approaching every game with a sense of urgency and determination following the appointment of new interim coach Mel Tucker.
NFL Betting Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars
The fact that the Jaguars beat the Buccaneers 41-14 is just as surprising as the fact that they came back and were pounded by the same score just last week against the Atlanta Falcons, and it will be interesting to see how the team responds. The Falcons’ defense was able to make life miserable for rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who was sacked five times and fumbled twice while throwing for just 141 passing yards. Gabbert isn’t ready to be more than a game manager at this point, which puts an even bigger onus on the shoulders of running back Maurice Jones-Drew. The Jacksonville defense is much better than it played last week against Atlanta, and they will need to forget about last week and bounce back in a hurry.
NFL Betting Preview: Tennessee Titans
Consecutive losses including handing the Colts their first win of the season last week have held the Titans back from reaching their potential, and another loss this week could lead to changes. While Tennessee does have several potential stars, the running game ranks 31st in the NFL with Chris Johnson continuing to struggle, and Matt Hasselbeck threw two costly interceptions against Indianapolis despite throwing for 223 yards. The Titans are likely to turn back to rookie Jake Locker to start this week, and how poised he remains will play a big role in the outcome of this game.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Titans reached a low point in their season with the loss to the Colts, and in order to avoid sliding any further they will need their best players to step up and be their best players. A big part of that is on Johnson, who has rushed for just 930 yards this season after holding out for a new contract. That has led to even more troubles as Tennessee has tried to figure out its situation at quarterback, and they will need Johnson and the defense to step up big against the Jaguars as big favorites according to the sportsbook odds.
