Cardinals vs Giants Odds - Giants redeem themselves by clipping Cardinals
Online sports betting players didn’t see New York’s mauling at the hands of New Orleans coming last week, and Eli Manning’s first game back in his hometown didn’t go the way he planned. The Giants welcome high-flying Arizona to town this weekend, and redemption is the name of the game for New York.

Cardinals vs Giants odds maker breakdown: The Storyline
The Cardinals (3-2) continued their inconsistent season with a 27-3 win in Seattle, led by another brilliant performance from Kurt Warner. The Giants (5-1) had their undefeated start shattered in a big way in a 48-27 loss in New Orleans, and the Saints made New York’s defense look terrible by racking up 34 points in the first half. It’s more important that the Giants bounce back from such a beating. Betting Edge: Giants
Cardinals vs Giants odds maker breakdown: Offense
We all know that the Cardinals can pass, and Warner had another great game by completing 32 of his 41 passes for 276 yards and a pair of touchdowns. But can the Cardinals go to the Super Bowl again without a running game? Arizona is tied with San Diego for the worst rushing attack in the league, and the tandem of Tim Hightower and “Beanie” Wells isn’t scaring anyone. The Giants are sixth in the league offensively, but they were all out of sorts against the Saints as they had a pair of turnovers, and one more that would have been a pick-six if not for a phantom penalty. Eli Manning had his worst game of the season, and Brandon Jacobs has been a non-factor all season. Still, Hakeem Nicks had 141 receiving yards and a touchdown, and he joins Steve Smith and Mario Manningham in a young and talented corps. Betting Edge: Draw
Cardinals vs Giants odds maker breakdown: Defense
Arizona’s defense swarmed Seattle, holding the Seahawks to 128 yards and only 14 on the ground. The Cardinals lead the league in rushing defense, but those numbers are misleading because they’re so bad against the pass. Arizona is 31st in the NFL in pass defense, and if you can’t stop the great quarterbacks in this league, your sportsbook chances are as good as numbered. New York’s No.1 defense was embarrassed by New Orleans, and the Giants never got to Drew Brees at all, sacking him only once. The Giants haven’t been pushed around like that in a long time, as the Saints did whatever they wanted to them. Not having Chris Canty, Aaron Ross and Kenny Phillips in the lineup hurts the Giants a lot. Betting Edge: Giants
Cardinals vs Giants odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
Receiver Anquan Boldin (ankle) will be questionable, at best, for this contest, and it’s been a rough couple of years for the ex-Florida State star. Canty (calf) and Phillips (knee) are definitely out, while Ross (hamstring) is fighting hard to get back on the field. Betting Edge: Cardinals
Cardinals vs Giants odds for total: 46
The last two meetings between these two have gone over the posted total, and this looks like another one. The Giants’ offense will be eager to prove that last week was an anomaly, while their secondary will have problems with the Cardinals. Even though Warner doesn’t do well in cold weather, he’ll have no other choice but to put up points since Arizona can’t do it on the ground. Pick: OVER 46
Cardinals vs Giants betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
Warner returns to Giants Stadium, where he played for a year in between St. Louis and Arizona. But he’s more of an indoor/warm weather passer, and Giants Stadium isn’t actually the University of Phoenix Stadium. This is where the lack of a running game will hurt the Cardinals. On the Giants’ side of the ball, they’re going to be upset at the way they were manhandled against the Saints. Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora will live in the Cardinals’ backfield, and it could be a long day for Warner. Manning will take advantage of Arizona’s poor pass defense, too. DJ’S PICK: Giants -7
