Chargers Broncos Betting – Chargers Have No Excuses As The Head To The Mile High
One of the biggest sports betting problems that the San Diego Chargers have faced over the past couple of years is their inability to win on the road early on. After clinching three of their first four contests, the Chargers have the chance to put a strangehold on the AFC West division lead in just week five, as they make the trip to the Mile High City to take on the Denver Broncos. Their only loss so far was week two at the New England Patriots, and while they were beaten by a very good football team then, there will be no excuses if they come up short again this week against the 1-3 Broncos.

The problems in Denver range from an inept defense to an even worse offense, and there has been an eye on Tim Tebow since even before the regular season got underway. While the defensive units get the majority of the blame, it has been Kyle Orton and the offense that has struggled the most, and if they aren’t able to turn it around soon it could mean major changes for the Broncos.
NFL Betting Preview: San Diego Chargers
After a slow start cost them a chance at the playoffs a year ago, the Chargers have made sure to take care of their business with a sense of urgency and determination that is unmatched in head coach Norv Turner’s tenure, and it is already paying off. Quarterback Phillip Rivers has thrown for 1,285 yards and five touchdowns, and was able to get through last Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins without turning the ball over after throwing at least one interception in each of his first three games. Rivers has always had a fierce rivalry with the Broncos’ defense, and he will look to make some big plays this week to get San Diego their first road win. The Chargers’ defense ranks in the top-12 both against the run and pass once again, but will look to get more pressure on the opposition quarterback.
NFL Betting Preview: Denver Broncos
If Orton and the Broncos don’t find a way to move the ball against San Diego, they could find themselves serenaded with calls for Tebow, who looked strong for Denver to close out last season but has yet to get a chance to start under new head coach John Fox. Orton has thrown for more than 300 yards only once through four games, and he has matched his touchdowns with interceptions in every game except one. With a lack of depth around him, Orton simply needs to be better. Denver’s 23rd ranked pass defense will have a tough time against Rivers, so the Broncos will have to put up some sportsbook promo points to keep this one close.
NFL Betting: Outlook & Pick
The Broncos are a bigger mess than people realize at this point, with band aids to cover a variety of different holes that have kept this team from bottoming out. It won’t get any easier for Denver in week five with a visit from the Chargers, who already have their sights set on the AFC West title. San Diego has avoided the type of slow start that has hurt them in years past, and can take another major step forward with a big win this week.
