Chiefs Broncos Betting – Denver Aims To Snap Four-Game Slide This Sunday Versus Division Rivals
The Denver Broncos return from their bye week looking to snap a streak of four straight losses when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday afternoon. A promising start that including wins against the Seattle Seahawks and at the Tennessee Titans has quickly evaporated in to a four-game slide that has head coach Josh McDaniels’ side in the AFC West basement. It won’t get any easier this week however, as the Broncos brace for the division-leading Chiefs.
NFL Betting: Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos
Online Sports Betting Odds: Kansas City – 1
Kansas City remains atop the AFC West by a half-game after their overtime loss to the Oakland Raiders last weekend, but will need a much more complete effort after a couple of questionable performances. The Chiefs went to overtime the previous week as well, prevailing 13-10 over the winless Buffalo Bills, and will need to avoid losing a fourth in their last six games to continue to be considered a legitimate contender.
Why To Bet On The Chiefs?
The running back tandem of Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones have rushed the Chiefs to the top-ranked running game in the league with an average of 179.6 yards per game, with Charles covering 719 with two touchdowns and Jones reaching 570 and three scores. The Broncos rank 31st in the league against the rush this year, and will have big problems stopping Kansas City’s two-headed attack. The Chiefs have also done a solid job in the running game on the defensive side of the football betting ball where they rank ninth in the league, and that should force Denver to become more one-dimensional.
Why To Bet On The Broncos?
Denver should be well rested coming off of their bye week, and have the third-ranked passing attack in the league firing on all cylinders. The Broncos have not been able to run the ball all year, but given that Kansas City is better against the run than pass, that should be just fine with McDaniels and company. Denver made a commitment during the bye week to focus on how it can improve against the run, and it should show in a game the Broncos simply must win in order to get back on track.
How The Game Will Play Out
The Broncos will go to the air early and often, trying to keep pace with the Chiefs’ running game, and they may just have an advantage. The high altitude of the Mile High city gives Denver a distinct advantage at this time of the year, and it should have at least some effect as the game progresses. The Chiefs will keep this one close, but ultimately it will be the Broncos that get back in to the win column.
