Chiefs Raiders Betting – Raiders Look To Build Momentum With Palmer Against Chiefs
On the heels of a 4-2 straight to the sports betting season, the Oakland Raiders have decided to go all-in this year, banking that they have what it takes to challenge for a Super Bowl. The Raiders made a move to support that outlook this week when they sent a first and conditional second round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals for quarterback Carson Palmer, who they expect will be able to step in and replace the injured Jason Campbell. Palmer could see his first action in the black and silver against the rival Kansas City Chiefs, as Oakland looks to extend their perfect record within the AFC West dating back to a sweep of the division last season.

NFL Betting Lines: Oakland Raiders – 3.5
Whether or not Palmer was worth the hefty price tag only time will tell, but with a rushing attack that ranks second in the NFL, there is a chance that the former Pro Bowl quarterback can at least manage a talented Raiders’ offense. Oakland will get its next test against a Kansas City team that they swept a year ago, as they continue to push the San Diego Chargers for the division lead.
NFL Betting Preview: Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs broke out last year and won the division, but they have learned the hard way just how difficult it is to stay on top. Injuries to key players on both sides of the ball have contributed to Kansas City’s stumbles out of the gate, but the emergence of a couple of key rushers in Dexter McCluster and Jackie Battle have helped them bounce back with consecutive wins. The Chiefs will look to help establish the running game early to help open things up for quarterback Matt Cassel to go over the top, as they have in their two wins as Cassel continues to show improvement with every start. The defense has struggled with the loss of safety Eric Berry, and must be better against the run.
NFL Betting Preview: Oakland Raiders
Head coach Hue Jackson has yet to reveal whether or not he will start Palmer at quarterback ahead of Kyle Boller and Terrelle Pryor this early, but it is a telling sign that the team decided to give up so much in the trade even with those two already on the roster. Regardless of who gets the start under center, the Raiders will continue to try and run the ball as often as possible, with running backs Darren McFadden and Michael Bush continuing to lead the NFL’s second-ranked rushing attack, which has averaged 160 yards per bet football online game.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Just the presence of Palmer should serve as a threat to opposing defenses, and perhaps even a significant upgrade over Campbell. Kansas City is never an easy opponent for Oakland, and that won’t change after the Chiefs won consecutive games, but the Raiders might simply be too powerful with McFadden and the rushing attack leading the charge.
