Chiefs vs Raiders Odds - K.C. run game will improve without Johnson, burn Raiders
Chiefs vs Raiders odds probably don't get most sports betting fans' juices flowing, but even though the game isn't between two heavyweights, it should still be a close battle. These AFC West rivals are very similar in talent level and Oakland won 13-10 earlier this season.

Chiefs vs Raiders odds maker breakdown: The Storyline
There's been major turmoil in Kansas City thanks to Larry Johnson's outbursts and griping. The Chiefs decided to move on from the distractions and just cut the running back. Now they need to snap their two-game losing streak and get their second win of the year.
There's been major turmoil in Oakland, too, but what else is new? For now, the Tom Cable assault business seems to be behind them, so Oakland can concentrate on getting another win. The Raiders had lost two in a row heading into their bye last week.
Chiefs vs Raiders odds maker breakdown: Offense
You'd think losing a starting running back would hurt, but it shouldn't in Kansas City's case. The plodding Johnson was averaging a horrific 2.7 yards per carry this season, and his replacements, Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith, can certainly outproduce that. The passing game isn't much to look at. Matt Cassel doesn't make many mistakes, but he doesn’t make many big plays either.
Averaging less than 10 points per game, Oakland's offense is absolutely miserable. JaMarcus Russell is headed for Ryan Leaf territory if he maintains his current pace. At least the Raiders will have all three backs—Michael Bush, Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas—healthy and active for the first time in recent memory.

Chiefs vs Raiders odds maker breakdown: Defense
Kansas City and Oakland are nearly identical on defense, both allowing over 25 points per game. Neither can sack the quarterback (though the Chiefs are especially bad) and neither can stop the run (though the Raiders are especially bad). Oakland can at least boast a nine-point defensive effort against the Eagles in Week 6.

Chiefs vs Raiders odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
Oakland's backfield is getting healthy again. Chiefs receiver Chris Chambers, nursing a foot injury, is expected to start.

Chiefs vs Raiders odds for total: 37
These offenses are among the worst in the NFL, if not the worst. Last time these teams met they totaled 23 total points—is there any reason to believe it will be different this time around? No, there is not. Bet the under at the sportsbook.
Pick: UNDER 37
Chiefs vs Raiders betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
Oakland's biggest defensive weakness is stopping the run and, despite Larry Johnson being cut, the Chiefs might actually take advantage of that; at least Smith and Charles will hit the hole with some enthusiasm. It's going to be a brutal, low-scoring game, but look for Kansas City's new backfield rotation try to make a name for itself with Johnson being kicked out of town. Bet on Kansas City.
