Dolphins Chiefs Betting – Chiefs Look To Continue Surge Against Winless Dolphins Sunday
While a lot of the talk this season has been about the winless Indianapolis Colts and the team’s outlook this season without quarterback Peyton Manning under center, perhaps there hasn’t been enough talk about how bad the Miami Dolphins have been regardless of who is under center. The Dolphins are also winless through seven games heading in to Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and one more loss could finally mean the sports betting end for embattled head coach Tony Sparano.

NFL Betting Lines: Kansas City – 4.5
While the Dolphins haven’t been able to get in to the win column, the Chiefs are even more desperate to get one this weekend as they remain locked in a three-way tie for first in the AFC West. Rewind back to week three of the NFL season and Kansas City was still winless and lacking a true identity with a ton of injuries, but after four straight wins this team has emerged from the shadows to become a legitimate AFC contender.

It came as a surprise to more than a few people when Sparano wasn’t fired heading in to the Dolphins’ bye week following an 0-4 start, and then again after blowing a 15-point lead in the final three minutes of a home loss to Tim Tebow and the lowly Denver Broncos, so maybe another defeat this week might still not bring down the axe. Miami has lost each its last two games by three points and at least showed some urgency in a 20-17 road loss to the New York Giants. Still, there is no one area where this team excels, and with a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball it will be just as tough to get a win this week in a hostile environment.

After losing leading rusher Jamaal Charles and top safety Eric Berry during an 0-3 start, it initially looked as though it would be a long season in Kansas City. But the Chiefs have found a way to rally on both sides of the ball and with the running back tandem of Jackie Battle and Dexter McCluster averaging a combined 4.55 yards per carry and the defense rallying together, the team has won four straight and moved into first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs have an excellent chance to extend their winning streak with the next two games against teams with a combined 2-12 record, and as long as they continue to remain patient and execute they should have their way.

The sportsbooks have the Chiefs listed as 5.5-point favorites after watching Miami keep it close with the Giants a week ago, but perhaps that number isn’t nearly high enough. Forget that Kansas City will play this game on short rest coming off a big win against a division rival, because the Dolphins have been awful this season and are due to get blown out after two close losses.
