Eagles Bills Betting – Bills Look To Keep Eagles From Taking Off Week Five
Traveling back in time to before the opening kickoff of the 2011 NFL season, it might have been difficult to convince the experts that it would be the Buffalo Bills and not the Philadelphia Eagles that opened the season with three wins through their first four games. However, that is exactly the case heading in to week five, as the surprising Bills look to keep the reeling Eagles from taking off.

NFL Betting Lines: Philadelphia Eagles – 3
For all of the talk about a potential “Dream Team” in Philadelphia, perhaps it was the expectations that were too high for this team. The Eagles have a ton of talent at the skill positions, but where they are lacking is at the frontlines and in the trenches, where too many games are won and lost. That is where the Bills have found their improbable success early on this year, who now look to bounce back after their first loss of the season.
NFL Betting Preview: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles actually rank in the top-10 of the NFL in terms of both rushing and passing yards, so the problem hasn’t been their ability to move the ball. Where Philadelphia has really struggled is in having the killer instinct to put teams away when they have them against the sports betting ropes, as two of their three losses have come from blown leads in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Michael Vick has done a lot to keep this team competitive, but he will need some help from his defense to get the job done on the road in Buffalo. Philadelphia ranks 30th in the NFL defending the run, and unless they can show improvement this Sunday they will be in trouble against Fred Jackson and the fifth-ranked rushing attack.
NFL Betting Preview: Buffalo Bills
After pulling off incredible comeback wins over the Oakland Raiders and division rival New England Patriots, it was all too fitting that the Bills would suffer their first loss of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals. Unlike in the previous two games, Buffalo actually led by two touchdowns at the half against the Bengals, only to get outscored 20-3 the rest of the way and eventually lose. Perhaps the secret to getting back in the win column is to make sure that they fall behind early again in order to pull off another comeback. The Bills match up well against the Philadelphia defense, so they will have their chances.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Regardless of how talented the Eagles are at the skill positions, the fact remains that in order to win in this league you need to be able to stop the run. Philadelphia’s defense has yet to prove that they can slow opponents down on the ground, and if they can’t hold up against Jackson and company in Buffalo, then Eagles’ fans will be in for another long sports betting bonus afternoon.
