Falcons Colts Betting – Falcons Look To Extend Streak Against Winless Colts
With three losses through their first five games, the Atlanta Falcons were guaranteed not to match last year’s 14 wins by the second week of October. However with consecutive wins over the Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions in their past two outings the Falcons have finally taken off following a slow start, and now are in an excellent position to extend their winning streak coming off a bye to face the winless Indianapolis Colts.

Bet Football Online Spread: Atlanta Falcons – 7
While the media has relentlessly scrutinized the loss of Peyton Manning for the Colts, their last couple of losses illustrate that the team’s problems extend far beyond one player. While Manning would undoubtedly be able to mask some of those deficiencies, Indianapolis simply needs to do a better job of executing their game plan as the seat under head coach Jim Caldwell continues to heat up.
Falcons Colts Betting Preview: Atlanta Falcons
It seems as though the Falcons have learned by their own trial and error that regardless of personnel additions their biggest strength is still running back Michael Turner and the rushing attack. Turner ran for 122 yards on 27 touches in the win over Detroit, the second time in as many weeks he has rushed for at least 120 yards and not surprisingly, Atlanta has won both of those games. Turner and company should have no problem hitting that mark again this Sunday against the Colts and their 31st-ranked run defense, which is giving up an average of 144 yards per game on the ground. Atlanta’s defense has also shown improvement over the past two wins, and will need to make a sports bet statement.
Falcons Colts Betting Preview: Indianapolis Colts
After missing out on a couple of close chances to get their first win earlier in the season, the Colts have looked awful in losing their past two games by a combined 72 points. While Curtis Painter is no Manning, the other pieces of the offense have not been able to raise their level of play around him, and that is another piece of the equation. The Indianapolis defense has cooled off after playing with some excellent intensity and desire early on, and there have been those that have questioned whether or not the team has given up.
Falcons Colts Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
After a couple of big losses, it may come as a surprise to some that the sports betting line for this game is only seven points, but perhaps that is to keep people guessing about the Falcons’ ability to put away Indianapolis in this position. The Colts have shown nothing that would suggest that they could keep it close with one of the top teams in the NFC, and while they haven’t been soaring the way they did last year to this point, thing appear to finally be coming together for a talented Atlanta team.
