Giants Texans Betting – Houston Looks To Maintain Lead In AFC South
The Houston Texans season of opportunity is off to a very encouraging start. Coach Gary Kubiak’s team tries to keep winning as it faces the New York Giants.
NFL Betting: New York Giants @ Houston Texans

Why To Bet On The Giants
Obviously, Houston must continue to establish Arian Foster on the ground, but since the Giants and defensive coordinator Perry Fewell will be game planning for Foster, the Texans and coach Gary Kubiak must find ways to establish the passing game with quarterback Matt Schaub. In college football, you can sometimes lean on your strength without having to test your weakness. In the NFL, your weaknesses will always be tested, so Houston has to shore up its passing game in order to feel really good about its chances against the Giants. Schaub completed only 16-of-29 passes against the Oakland Raiders this past weekend, even while Foster – his valuable running back – raced for 131 yards. If Houston can’t pass to supplement the running game, the Giants will bottle up Foster and smother the Texans’ offense. New York has a very good chance of holding down Houston’s offense. As long as the Giants avoid turnovers in the red zone – which they’ve committed each of the past two weeks – they should be very competitive and could very easily take down the Texans. It’s worth noting that Houston fell behind the Washington Redskins 27-10 in week two before escaping with an overtime win. The Giants are better than Washington, at least at this point in the season.
Why To Bet On The Texans
This game is really not very complicated. It's an old-school matchup in which running and stopping the run will tell the tale in Houston. The Texans have bolted to a 3-1 start and gained the lead in the AFC South because Foster has run wild in the first four games of the season. The Tennessee grad has rolled for 537 yards in four games, good for a 6.3 yards-per-carry average, which is astounding in modern-day professional football. Foster did get 231 of those yards in game one against the Indianapolis Colts, but he's still been very effective since then. Foster gained 106 yards on just 17 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in week three, and he collected 131 more yards on only 16 carries this past weekend against Oakland. Foster has remarkable body balance and leg drive. He shrugs off tacklers at the point of contact and is able to bounce off bodies for an extra yard or two in short-yardage situations. It's been Foster who has really enabled the Texans to thrive.
How The Game Will Play Out
ouston's passing game won't flourish, but it will make enough downfield plays to keep the Giants honest. Foster will be solid but not overwhelming. The difference will come on the other side of the ball, as New York's turnovers will continue to plague the Giants. Take Houston at home.
