Jaguars Steelers Betting – Steelers Look To Overwhelm AFC South Opponent For Second Consecutive Week
By Tony Bryant
It might have taken a little bit longer for the Pittsburgh Steelers to show up to the party, but now that they are here look for them to do things their way. After a 2-2 start that included road losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, the Steelers made a statement at home with 21-point win over the Tennessee Titans, and will now look for their second win against an AFC South opponent in as many weeks when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars.

While the Steelers seemed to overcome some of the major issues that plagued them through the first four weeks against the Titans, Jacksonville has lost four straight since a win over Tennessee week one. The Jaguars will continue to ride with rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert under center, who will now face the Pittsburgh and Baltimore defenses in consecutive weeks.
NFL Betting Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars
To say that Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio is on the hot seat would be an understatement, but at the end of the day his players have made it known that it is on them to execute on the field. Following an 85-yard performance, running back Maurice Jones-Drew acknowledged that Del Rio was not to blame for the team’s rough start, and there was no denying that the blame was widespread. Jones-Drew and company have now lost seven of eight dating back to last season, and it won’t get any easier with the rookie Gabbert lining up against the Pittsburgh defense. The Steelers have shown vulnerability when opposing defenses get pressure on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, but Jacksonville hasn’t done enough to suggest they can create that sports betting bonus disruption.

Roethlisberger was sacked just one time by the Titans and he wound up throwing for 228 yards and five touchdowns in Pittsburgh’s most convincing win of the season. Turnovers are one of the most crucial factors to winning in the NFL, and if the Steelers can continue to protect the football they should get back to their AFC Championship form. One reason that Pittsburgh was able to protect the ball better was their ability to run, as Jonathan Dwyer rushed for 107 yards on just 11 categories, and Isaac Redman ran for another 49. The Steelers’ defense has looked tentative at times this season, but that wasn’t the case against Tennessee and they need to continue to play with confidence.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Steelers’ team that showed up against the Titans more closely resembled the team that went to the Super Bowl a year ago, and head coach Mike Tomlin hopes the week five win marks a turning point in the team’s sports betting season. Pittsburgh will play the Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals before facing the New England Patriots and Ravens in consecutive home games, and they need to make the most of their chances against teams they are expected to beat.
