NFL Betting Lines: New York Giants- 2.5
Factor in that Jets’ wide receiver Plaxico Burress will be playing his former team after they allowed him to sign with their rivals and this game has the makings of a classic. The Giants bounced back from a tough loss to the Carolina Panthers with a huge win over the Chicago Bears, but it won’t be nearly as easy this week with Ryan looking to make a statement.
NFL Betting Preview: New York Jets
That simply is the Jets’ way, as no matter when the game is they always seem to show up when there is that media spotlight shining brightest. Burress made a successful debut with New York in a 27-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, in which he caught three balls for 66 yards and a touchdown. The fact that he already looked in midseason form is downright scary, and he could be the missing piece opposite of Santonio Homes with tight end Dustin Keller making plays over the middle. The Jets’ defense came alive against the Bengals, and the first-team unit will want to make a statement against the Giants.
NFL Betting Preview: New York Giants
While all of the talk in New York is about the Jets’ chances of winning the Super Bowl, the Giants have quietly put together a roster that they feel is capable of contending. Injuries to Osi Umenyiora and rookie cornerback Prince Akamura have slowed their progress, but it is early in the preseason and there is still time for the defense to come together. Saturday’s game will be a real test for Eli Manning, who recently said that he felt he belonged in the same class of quarterback as Tom Brady. The Jets will throw a lot of different looks at Manning, and he will need to respond.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
While the Giants have looked tentative this preseason, the Jets have been all about pushing forward. There is little doubt that Ryan will have his troops ready for this game, and with a healthy defense and Burress looking to show off his talents against his former team, Gang Green should have no problem locking up their second preseason sports betting bonus win.
