Jets Redskins Betting: Jets Try To Halt Slide Against Inconsistent Redskins
The New York Jets were hoping they could overtake the New England Patriots this season in the AFC East. Now, they’re in a familiar fight just to get one of the AFC’s final playoff spots.
New York Jets @ Washington Redskins - Sunday, December 4
Sports betting line: New York Jets -3Why New York Jets Will Win
The NFL betting lines experts who try to create action in sportsbooks are well aware that the New York Jets have one of the most impotent offenses in all of professional football. Savvy NFL observers know that quarterback Mark Sanchez is not one of the more impressive quarterbacks around, meaning that the Jets won’t light up the scoreboard on a typical Sunday. However, for all the problems the Jets have – problems which crop up every single season – the Washington Redskins are in a worse position. Ever since head coach Mike Shanahan came to the nation’s capital to try to revive a moribund franchise, the quarterback guru and play-calling wizard has utterly and entirely struck out. Shanahan’s stock has plummeted, as the Super Bowl-winning coach has lost his touch in the realms of both player selection and play selection. Donovan McNabb was supposed to boost the Redskins’ fortunes last season, but Shanahan shockingly benched him in favor of Rex Grossman, a spectacularly interception-prone quarterback with nothing close to the reputation McNabb enjoyed while with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Redskins gave John Beck a try at the quarterback spot but have reverted to Grossman this season, and the results are hardly inspiring, to say the least. Washington remains under .500, looking up at Dallas and the New York Giants in the NFC East. The Jets’ defense should be able to get two or more takeaways in this game, and that should be enough for the visitors to prevail at FedEx Field as long as Sanchez can display good ball security in his own right.
