NFL Power Rankings - Ravens flying atop power rankings
The NFL is three weeks down, and as we get set to move into October, you might be surprised to see who’s atop our power rankings. Sports betting fans can expect to see them drop if they lose to New England this week:
1. (3) Baltimore Ravens (3-0)
ATS: 3-0; O/U: 2-1
Can anyone argue with this team right now? Their offense is averaging 34 points per game and their defense is still stellar. Better yet, the Steelers are already two games back. 2. (1) New York Giants (3-0)
ATS: 2-0-1; O/U: 2-1
There's a couple of injury concerns, such as the loss of safety Kenny Phillips and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. Otherwise, the Giants are solid as a rock. 3. (4) New Orleans Saints (3-0)
ATS: 3-0; O/U: 2-1
Four of the next five games are at home and the Saints have rolled everything in sight so far. They’ve finally put it together with their good defense. 4. (6) New York Jets (3-0)
ATS: 3-0; O/U: 1-2
Mark Sanchez looks like this year’s Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco. If he keeps this up and the Jets defense continues to dominate, they have to be considered among the favorites in the sportsbook in the AFC. 5. (5) Indianapolis Colts (3-0)
ATS: 2-1; O/U: 1-2
As long as Peyton Manning is around, the Colts will be a Top 10 team. But they need to develop a running game to find some offensive balance. The defense has impressed. 6. (9) New England Patriots (2-1)
ATS: 1-2; O/U: 1-2
The Patriots were essentially one play away from being 1-2, but they’re not. In fact, they're just starting to find their stride. If they can make a statement against Baltimore this week, they’ll be near the top of the rankings next week. 7. (7) Minnesota Vikings (3-0)
ATS:2-1; O/U: 2-1
They needed a miracle to defeat the San Francisco 49ers at home, which shows they aren’t quite there yet. Even so, they are managing Brett Favre well and are improving weekly. 8. (2) Atlanta Falcons (2-1)
ATS: 2-1; O/U: 1-2
Online betting fans know that had the Falcons not fumbled to end the first half, they would have had a real shot at being 3-0. The Falcons are improved and still underrated in the NFC. 9. (10) Philadelphia Eagles (2-1)
ATS: 2-1; O/U: 3-0
The Philadelphia Eagles are still trying to find an identity with Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick, but if they can piece it together, they’ll be very dangerous in the NFC. 10. (14) Green Bay Packers (2-1)
ATS: 2-1; O/U: 2-1
NFL betting fans know that if the Packers offensive line can better protect Aaron Rodgers, their team could be very dangerous. So far, though, that hasn’t happened. 11. (17) San Diego Chargers (2-1) 12. (19) Cincinnati Bengals (2-1) 13. (12) Chicago Bears (2-1) 14. (15) Denver Broncos (3-0) 15. (8) Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2) 16. (11) Dallas Cowboys (2-1) 17. (13) San Francisco 49ers (2-1) 18. (18) Arizona Cardinals (1-2) 19. (24) Seattle Seahawks (1-2) 20. (22) Tennessee Titans (0-3) 21. (16) Houston Texans (1-2) 22. (20) Buffalo Bills (1-2) 23. (27) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) 24. (21) Washington Redskins (1-2) 25. (23) Miami Dolphins (0-3) 26. (25) Carolina Panthers (0-3) 27. (31) Detroit Lions (1-2) 28. (31) Oakland Raiders (1-2) 29. (30) Kansas City Chiefs (0-3) 30. (32) St. Louis Rams (0-3) 31. (29) Cleveland Brown (0-3) 32. (28) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3)
