Packers Seahawks Betting – Who Will Blow The Lead This Time?
The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks continue to prepare for the upcoming season, as they take the field against each other for a Week 2 preseason matchup. It will be the second home game for the Pete Carroll era in Seattle. They, much like Green Bay, unfortunately were unable to seal the deal in their preseason openers. Both the Packers and Seahawks blew fourth quarter leads en route to dropping their first preseason games.
NFL Betting: Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks
Online betting odds: Seahawks -1
Why To Bet On The Packers
While the Packers were unable to defeat the Browns in the first week, the game was not all for naught. The first team offense, led by Aaron Rodgers, was able to comeback from a 14-0 deficit to tie the game. When the backups game in, they trailed 21-14. They were able to come back to take the lead, only to lose it at the end of the game. The Green Bay offense is expected to be one of the most dynamic in the NFL. With the Seahawks defense struggling to find an identity, it may be open season for Rodgers and the starters. The reserves also showed solid resolve in coming back to take the lead against the Browns. If they find themselves in a similar position, I feel as if they will pounce on it.
Why To Bet on the Seahawks
The Seahawks had a similar situation to the Packers, although the Seattle starters actually held the lead for the majority of their time in the game. It was Seattle’s reserves that were unable to close out the Titans. An encouraging sign for Seattle was the play of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck is looking to regain the form that he displayed in leading the team to the Super Bowl. Playing against a Green Bay secondary that allowed three passing touchdowns to the Browns first team offense should only do wonders for Hasselbeck’s growing confidence. If the reserves do not play better, though, it may be for naught.
How the Game Will Play Out
The odds makers set the right line for this game, with it being a pick ’em. In a true sense, it truly is a tossup. Both teams took very similar routes in their first preseason games. If there is an edge to be had, I have to give it to Green Bay. Their roster is a bit more stable, and their offense is more dynamic. This one, however, was not an easy game to call, by any means.
