Raiders vs 49ers Odds - Raiders fall back to earth in San Francisco
Oakland raised some eyebrows in the offshore sportsbook industry with their comprehensive thrashing of Dallas at home last week, but people shouldn’t get too excited just yet. The Raiders head to San Francisco on Saturday, and the 49ers will show why they are being touted as a possible sleeper pick this season.
Raiders vs 49ers odds: 49ers -2.5

- PICK: San Francisco
Raiders vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Offense The Raiders racked up 456 yards in a 31-10 rout over the Cowboys, while three quarterbacks went 22-of-37 for 280 yards and two touchdowns. JaMarcus Russell was 6-of-9 for 50 yards and looked to be far more confident than last year. The 49ers were efficient in a 17-16 win over Denver, as their trio of pivots went 14-of-18 for 142 yards, and they also rushed for 136 yards. In fact, both teams averaged 4.5 yards or more on the ground, which bodes well as their quarterbacking situations have been spotty at best. Betting Edge: Draw
Raiders vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Defense Oakland forced a pair of turnovers out of the Cowboys, but they did allow 127 yards on the ground. A listless run defense is a quick way to drop your betting online chances as it leaves your defense on the field for far too long. The 49ers picked off the Broncos three times, but they also gave up 341 total yards, and they were lit up when Chris Simms entered the game. A slight edge goes to the 49ers, as they were missing their best defensive player. Betting Edge: San Francisco
Raiders vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Special Teams The Raiders had a solid day on special teams, although they allowed the Cowboys to average over 25 yards per kickoff return. Alex Romero missed an extra point for the 49ers, and given the close score of the game, he’s lucky it didn’t come back to bite him. Betting Edge: Oakland
Raiders vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries Jeff Garcia, Javon Walker and Jon Alston will also miss the game for the Raiders, while the 49ers got some good news as Patrick Willis did some light practicing for the first time since hurting his ankle on August 1st. No one knows the 49ers’ system better than Willis, who doesn’t need to risk further injury. As long as he’s ready for the regular season, San Francisco will be okay. Betting Edge: San Francisco
Raiders vs 49ers odds betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick Sports betting lines have the 49ers as a 2.5-point favorite, and the Raiders are 2-3 all-time at Candlestick Park. Russell wasn’t that great on the road last year, so this will be a good chance for him to rectify this. Oakland as a team has lost 15 of its last 20 road games. The 49ers won their final three home games of the year, and got off to a good start by edging the Broncos. I’m still not sold on Russell and the Oakland offense, especially on the road. STAN’S PICK: San Francisco
