Rams vs 49ers Odds - Last week’s heartbreak becomes this week’s vengeance for 49ers
The Rams vs 49ers odds should get San Francisco’s NFL betting fans nice and excited. Their team is 2-1 and came within one play of beating the Vikings to go 3-0. Now the 49ers get a home game against the lowly Rams. It’s not a question of if Mike Singletary’s “D” will crush St. Louis – just how badly.

Rams vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: The Storyline
Here’s the Rams’ storyline: they stink. The only real question this week is whether or not San Francisco can bounce back from last week’s heartbreaking last-second defeat. In theory, the 49ers should stomp all over the Rams. If they don’t, however, online sports betting players will leap from the San Fran bandwagon.
Rams vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Offense
Picking between these two offenses is like choosing between a rock and a hard place. The Rams are terrible, Marc Bulger is a joke, and Kyle Boller’s success in spot duty will be fleeting. Steven Jackson looks like he’ll be wasted for another year in the backfield. The 49ers aren’t much better – Shaun Hill is more a caretaker than anything else – but they can at least run the ball. Even with Frank Gore out this week, rookie Glen Coffee has a good chance to run wild on the Rams. Tight end Vernon Davis’ two-touchdown performance last week was also quite encouraging. Betting Edge: 49ers
Rams vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Defense
The 49ers have a very clear edge here. Mike Singletary’s boys are motivated and playing aggressive, tough defense. Stud linebacker Patrick Willis leads the NFC’s top-ranked run defense through three games (and let’s remember that San Francisco faced Adrian Peterson last week); with no real need to respect the Rams’ passing attack, San Francisco can stack the box against poor Jackson. The Rams “D” will eventually succeed under Steve Spagnuolo’s tutelage but the young group, led by team-leading tackler James Laurinatis, still has a lot to learn. Betting Edge: 49ers
Rams vs 49ers odds for total: 37.5
While I don’t expect much offense in this sportsbook matchup, I expect the Rams and 49ers to exceed 37.5 points. San Francisco should move the ball well enough, especially on the ground, for two or three scores. Their “D” should swarm the Rams enough to force multiple mistakes, so a fumble recovery touchdown or pick-six is in the cards. The 49ers will score points in many different ways. Pick: Over 37.5
Rams vs 49ers odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
The Rams have more injured players – Marc Bulger may miss time with his bruised rotator cuff, James Butler sprained his MCL and Laurent Robinson is lost for the year with a broken fibula – but none of those Rams was making a massive impact anyway. Frank Gore’s injury means much more to San Francisco, as Coffee still isn’t guaranteed to fill the void at halfback perfectly. Betting Edge: Rams
Rams vs 49ers betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
We’ve seen upsets here and there – how about the Lions last week? – but the Rams won’t pull any miracles in San Francisco. The 49ers are due to bounce back after the Vikings stole one from them last week. Singletary will have them angry; any Rams fans attending should bring blindfolds, as this could be a train wreck. D.J.’S PICK: 49ers -10
