Redskins Bills Betting – Bills Finally Get First Win In Toronto
Sports betting players will follow action north of the border this weekend as Buffalo returns to Toronto, where they haven’t had a record to be proud of. However, the Bills will come off a bye and host Washington, who have made some changes to their offense due to injury, and Buffalo will ride their mistakes to a big victory.

Why Bet On Washington Redskins (3-3 SU, 3-3 ATS)
The Redskins fell 33-20 at Carolina as three turnovers sealed their fate, and they failed to take advantage of 13 Carolina flags. John Beck was 22-of-37 for 279 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw a pick and fumbled the ball. Tim Hightower ran 17 times for 88 yards, but his day ended prematurely (more on that soon), while Beck also ran one in from four yards. The Redskins managed to sack Cam Newton four times, but they were also gouged for 175 yards as they couldn’t figure out how to slow down the option-like offense that the Panthers run. This game was actually close until the fourth quarter when Carolina pulled away, and the Redskins have to stop the bleeding as they’ve dropped two in a row.
Washington is now threatened by injuries as Hightower (knee) is done for the season, which means more work for Ryan Torain and rookie Roy Helu. Hightower is the best back that Washington has, and Torain has always had trouble just staying on the field. Receiver Santana Moss (hand) is out for at least five weeks, and tight end Chris Cooley (knee) has probably played his last game in a Washington uniform. Beck was just handed the starter’s role last week after Rex Grossman was pulled, and now he’s missing the first-string running back and Washington’s best receiver. That puts a lot of pressure on the Redskins’ No.12-ranked defense, although the Washington offense is going up against a Buffalo defense that is ranked 31st in the NFL.
Why Bet On Buffalo Bills (4-2 SU, 3-2-1 ATS)
Buffalo is coming off a bye, and even though their defense is admittedly porous, they’re living off of turnovers as the Bills are second only to Detroit in turnover margin and they lead the NFL in takeaways. Offensively, the Bills are 10th as Ryan Fitzpatrick in passer rating, but the big story is the resurgence of running back Fred Jackson, who is sixth in the league in rushing, and it’s actually not a resurgence, it’s just that the Bills are winning, so Jackson is creeping back into the minds of NFL betting players. With Jackson being effective, that allows Fitzpatrick to utilize the play-action pass and get the ball to Stevie Johnson and David Nelson, while Jackson has also proven to be a dependable receiver out of the backfield.
The Bills will hope that receiver Donald Jones (ankle) can get back in the lineup, although C.J. Spiller has been filling in for him and Buffalo should try to get him more touches as his open-field ability is the only thing he offers. Left tackle Demetrius Bell (shoulder) will likely miss this game as well, which means Buffalo will have to dial up different protection packages for Fitzpatrick. Linebacker Shawne Merriman (Achilles) is out for the season, but that isn’t a big loss and Merriman may be done in the NFL after this. Nose tackle Kyle Williams (foot) isn’t ready to come back, and that is a blow to Buffalo’s run defense, which is ranked 30th.
How It Will Play Out
Buffalo is a 6-point NFL betting favorite at “home” in the Rogers Center, where the Bills are 1-3 SU and they’ve dropped all three of their regular-season contests in Toronto. But if there was a good chance to snap that streak, it would come this week as the Bills have won five in a row against Washington, covering the spread in all five games with three falling under the posted total.
The Bills are rested after a bye, and Washington’s offense has too many changes to be stable, so Buffalo is the play this week. The Redskins are 17th against the run and Jackson should be able to punish them up the middle. That slows down the Washington pass rush and allows Fitzpatrick to get into a rhythm. The Redskins also turn the ball over a lot and that plays right into Buffalo’s hands, so go with the Bills in this week’s online betting picks.
