The Seahawks were ravaged by injuries last year and took a year off from winning the West. This year, they appear to be back. Even so, the Seahawks offensive line was a big concern heading into the season and it held up well in the opener. If Matt Hasselbeck has time, he’s going to pick apart the 49ers defense. The 49ers offense, on the other hand, is a work in progress. Even calling it that might be an overstatement. Hill is very limited as a quarterback and he really doesn’t have any No. 1 targets to work with. If the Seahawks shut down Frank Gore, the 49ers offense will have a tough time scoring points. While most people will be quick to give this edge to the 49ers, take a good look at this Seahawks defense - they could be one of the best in the league. The Seahawks shut out the Rams in Week 1, notching three sacks and limiting Steven Jackson to 76 yards on 16 carries. That’s notable. The 49ers defense is also a competent unit and while they don’t have the talent the Seahawks do, they get the job done with moxie and coaching. They did a good job against the Cardinals last week but the Cardinals did shoot themselves in the foot a few times. Still, this is a stout defense when they play at home. Betting Edge: Even
