Seahawks vs Texans Betting Odds - Without pressure, Texans get back on winning track
NFL Odds: Pick Texans -6 |
The Seahawks vs Texans betting odds is a meeting of two teams desperate to keep their playoff hopes alive. At one point this season, the Texans were 5-3 and heading for the playoffs. Now, they’re 5-7 and clinging to a hope and a prayer. For Seattle, online betting cappers know that injuries have wiped out their season but they still share the same record as Houston. The Texans only play well when there’s no pressure, and without much of it this weekend, they’ll pound the Seahawks.

Seahawks vs Texans betting odds maker breakdown: The Storyline
The Seahawks have managed to pick themselves off the mat by winning their last two games, but they would still likely need to win out - and have the Arizona Cardinals lose out - to make the playoffs. The Seahawks have had a rough time on the road this year with their only road win coming in St. Louis. More so, they’ve been outscored 161-73 in their five road losses. A road win would be a confidence booster to them.
For Houston, they’ve lost four straight games and are in shambles right now. But this is nothing new for a franchise that took tough losses on the chin in the Gary Kubiak era. This team plays poorly when the pressure is on and wins games when there’s nothing to play for. This week, there isn’t much on the line for them.

Seahawks vs Texans betting odds maker breakdown: Offense
Sportsbook odds makers know that a healthy Matt Hasselbeck makes a big difference for the Seahawks, and a couple of straight wins have provided the evidence. Hasselbeck still isn’t 100% but he’s helping the team move the ball through the air, which is what they need. Justin Forsett has emerged as a capable runner and, while the team is stocked with good receivers, the offensive line doesn’t do much in the way of blocking, which hampers this unit.
The Texans will have to keep an eye on Matt Schaub’s health as he dislocated his non-throwing shoulder last week. If he can play, the Texans offense should be able to move the ball with ease. The Seahawks don’t have a very good run defense, which means that Steve Slaton – if he’s healthy – and/or Ryan Moats may be able to provide some balance for the offense. Scoring 30 points this week isn’t out of the question.

Seahawks vs Texans betting odds maker breakdown: Defense
The Seahawks defense has played well for two straight weeks, but that was against St. Louis on the road and San Francisco at home. The pass defense is ranked 25th in the NFL, and they’re going up against a very good group of receivers. Alex Smith threw for over 300 yards for the first time in his career against the Seahawks last week; that’s an ominous sign.
For Houston, their defense has been battling and actually played fairly well until the fourth quarter last week. The Texans do have a good run defense, and while their pass rush and coverage is weak, the Seahawks are more of a short yardage passing team than an explosive one. This is a manageable task for the Texans this week.

Seahawks vs Texans betting odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
The Texans should have both starting quarterback Matt Schaub (non-throwing shoulder) and Steve Slaton back for this game, but keep an eye on both of their statuses. Without Schaub, the Texans will lose outright, but Schaub is expected to play.

Seahawks vs Texans betting odds for total: 44.5
Both teams have decent offense and both teams have defenses that lag behind. Don’t be surprised if this is a high-scoring affair and both teams light up the scoreboard.
Pick: Over 44.5
Seahawks vs Texans betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
NFL betting fans are jumping off the Texans bandwagon and probably don’t want to lay six points with them at home this week, but the pressure is off, which means they should play well. This is still a very talented team, and while they can’t win big games yet, they sure know how to win the meaningless ones pretty well.
