Seahawks Cardinals Betting – NFC West Rivals Clash In The Desert
The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals have taken turns at the top of the NFC West over the past four seasons, but now both teams are looking up at the St. Louis Rams in the NFC’s closest division. Only two wins separates the first-place Rams from the 49ers in last place, and with all four teams clashing in division games this Sunday, week 10 will go a long way in determining how the NFC West turns out.
NFL Betting: Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
Online Sports Betting: Cardinals – 3
The Cardinals have lost three straight games since their bye week, including last weekend’s 27-24 overtime defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings. At 3-5, Arizona will have the chance to move in to a tie with the Seahawks if they can snap their winless streak, and hand Seattle a three-game losing streak of their own.
Why To Bet On The Seahawks?
The Seahawks’ only road win in four tries this season was a 23-20 victory over the Chicago Bears coming off the bye week, and the team has been much more consistent at home so far. One of their biggest weaknesses has been stopping the pass, which Seattle ranks 30th in the league against, but that won’t be as pressing of a problem against a Cardinals’ air attack that has fallen stagnant this season. The biggest question mark for the Seahawks will be how they get the offense going, as head coach Pete Carroll’s unit ranks 29th in the league both passing and rushing the ball, and have combined for just 10 points in consecutive losses leading in to this game.
Why To Bet On The Cardinals?
Arizona went back to Derek Anderson under center last weekend, and the veteran delivered one of his better performances in Cardinals’ red in the overtime loss. Anderson threw for just 179 yards but did have a touchdown and didn’t turn the ball over, which has been the Cardinals’ biggest problem on offense so far. Arizona put up 35 points in its last home game, and if they can continue to show football betting improvement there is no reason to think they cannot put up those same numbers against a Seahawks’ defense that has yielded totals of 33 and 41 the past two weeks.
How The Game Will Play Out
While the Cardinals have had trouble offensively, those shortcomings pale in comparison to the mess that Carroll and his staff have faced over the past two weeks. Arizona will commit to the run early, and challenge the Seahawks’ 30th ranked rush defense, which will open things up for the team to go over the top when they turn to Anderson and the passing game. Seattle’s offensive struggles will continue as they try to keep pace on the road, and that should result in the turnovers that seal the game and help the Cardinals end their three-game slide.
