Texans 49ers Betting – Texans Look To Keep Momentum Going In San Francisco
While the NFL preseason may not count towards the playoffs, the Houston Texans have to feel good about being headed in the right direction after their first two exhibition games. The Texans have opened their year up with consecutive wins over the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, and will now make the trip to face the San Francisco 49ers as they wrap up their preseason with a couple of sports betting road games.

Things haven’t been nearly as smooth for the 49ers this preseason, as they struggled against the Saints in their opener before taking care of the Oakland Raiders last week. It seems at this point as though San Francisco will open the regular season with Alex Smith back under center, but 49ers’ fans are still looking for a reason to believe.
NFL Betting Preview: Houston Texans
The Texans’ first string offense had no problem moving the ball on the Saints last week, scoring 24 first-half points before leaving the secondary units to finish them off. Two of those touchdowns came from last year’s rushing leader Arian Foster, and it appears as though he has a new friend in Ben Tate, who is beginning to look like the second round pick that Houston made him a year ago. Matt Schaub and the No. 1 offense will likely play up to three quarters in this game, and that is not a good thing for a 49ers’ pass defense that has struggled. The Texans have done a better job of getting pressure to the quarterback this preseason, and the improved coverage units should help get them even more time to generate hurries.
NFL Betting Preview: San Francisco 49ers
While Smith is almost guaranteed the job at this point ahead of rookie Colin Kaepernick, he hasn’t done anything special to establish his self as a starting quarterback. The biggest problem with Smith has been his lack of consistency, as he is capable of making an excellent throw one minute, only to turn the ball over the next. The 49ers will lean on their running game to open up the pass with the starters getting three quarters, and how Smith performs will be a good indication of where San Francisco stands. Defensively, this team will need to find ways to get to the quarterback and disrupt his rhythm, as pressure becomes even more key with the loss of cornerback Nate Clements.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Texans are absolutely rolling this preseason as they continue to execute as though they are in midseason form, and there is no reason to think that will stop as they take their show on the road to San Francisco. Houston may finally have the talent to compete with the Indianapolis Colts for an AFC South title, and they are playing with the needed focus and urgency in every sports betting bonus game.
