The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic hosted by Arnold Palmer is turning 50 this year, and this is always one of the most entertaining tournaments on the tour as a host of celebrities headline the amateur field. However, the best golf comes from the professionals, and Bob Hope Classic odds are favoring an ex-champion in this event make online betting players happy.
Justin Leonard has Bob Hope odds of +1400, and the 36-year-old won this event back in 2005. Leonard has started his season strongly with a fifth-place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Championship, and he was a runner-up in this event last season.
David Toms began his season with a second-place finish in last week’s Sony Open, but he hasn’t played this tournament since 2005, when he finished 29th. Still, Toms’ strong showing in Hawaii gave him Bob Hope Classic odds of +1600 to win this weekend.
2003 winner Mike Weir rounds out the list of top Bob Hope Classic betting contenders with odds of +1800, and this will be the first tournament of the year for the 38-year-old lefty, who finished tied for 56th last year. Weir finished last season with six top-10s in his last eight starts, so look for him to build on that.
The field has Bob Hope Classic odds of +150 and, as proven the last two years, an unlikely hero can rise up in this tournament as Charley Hoffman won in 2007 and D.J. Trahan was the victor in 2008. Sunday should boil down to a duel between a combination of Toms, Chad Campbell (who won here in 2006 and has Bob Hope Classic odds of +2200) and Leonard.
MARCO’S PICK: Leonard’s putting will help him out by the time the 18th hole rolls around. Bet on Justin Leonard to pay off for Bob Hope betting players.
Marco Sussman isn't too bad on the links, reportedly a five handicap. But, he's great in the sports betting game. He'll watch just about anything you put in front of him, but golf is what really gets his juices flowing. Thoughts or questions?
