golf oddsJOHN DEERE ODDS

  • KENNY PERRY +715
  • STEVE STRICKER +1215
  • DAVID TOMS +1615
  • ZACH JOHNSON +1615
  • LUCAS GLOVER +1615
  • DAVIS LOVE III +2550
  • STEVE MARINO +2550
  • WOODY AUSTIN +4050
  • DAVID DUVAL +5250
  • CHAD CAMPBELL +5250

The John Deere odds may not feature a star-studded field, as most of the PGA Tour’s top golfers have already traversed the Atlantic to prepare for next week’s British Open. However, several of the Tour’s hottest players are not “big names” and they’re playing the John Deere sports betting odds this week.

John Deere Odds: TPC Deere Run serves up birdies and eagles galore

  • WHAT: The John Deere Classic
  • WHEN: Thursday, July 9 to Sunday, July 12
  • WHERE: TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL
  • KEY STAT: 12 holes on the course had more birdies than bogeys last season
  • THE PICK: David Toms +1615

A small pack of favorites seems to have significantly better John Deere odds than the rest, and Kenny Perry (+715) leads this group. The superb ball striker has a pair of wins already this season and won his last start, ending his post-Masters slump. He also has five other top-10 finishes and ranks near the top of the Tour in scoring average, total driving and greens in regulation. He’s a virtual lock to crack the top five this week.

Steve Stricker (+1215) is also a winner this golf betting season and always seems to crack the top 25. His superb putting sets him up to score well in the John Deere odds, and he’ll have to do so to compete, as the last 11 John Deere Classic winners have finished between 16-under and 22-under par.

Next up is David Toms at +1615. Statistically, he’s having a huge bounce-back season. He has seven top-10s and two second-place finishes in his last three starts. He also leads the Tour in driving accuracy and is second in scoring average. Everything about his peripherals suggests he’ll post some seriously low figures this week.

If you like to ride the hot hand, consider Lucas Glover at +1615. The U.S. Open champ is showing his major victory wasn’t a fluke, as he followed up the win with an 11th-place and a fifth-place finish. He leads the Tour in total driving and is fifth in birdie average, so he too has an excellent chance of making the top 10.

A sleeper this week is Chad Campbell (+5250). He’s played eight rounds at TPC Deere Run and never shot over par there. He also placed seventh last year and opened the tourney with three straight 67s. He could very well steal the John Deere odds this week.

MARCO’S PICK: Kenny Perry looks great, but his offshore sportsbook value is poor at +715. You’re better off with David Toms, who has played almost as well as Perry this season and has been more consistent overall. He offers more than double Perry’s value and his general ball striking is outstanding. Bet on David Toms’ John Deere odds.

Marco Sussman isn't too bad on the links, reportedly a five handicap. But, he's great in the sports betting game. He'll watch just about anything you put in front of him, but golf is what really gets his juices flowing. Thoughts or questions? Email Comments@BetOnline.com.
