Presidents Cup Odds - Talent, crowd support will lift Americans to another Cup win
The United States have been a great sportsbook pick for players since its beginning in 1994, as they’ve won four of the six Presidents Cups, and tied another. The biannual event takes place in California this year, where the Americans will have ample support, but it’s the talent that will propel them to another victory over the International team.
Presidents Cup odds: USA -265; International +265; Draw +1215

Five of the 12 American players on this year’s squad are ranked in the world’s top 10, led of course by No.1 Tiger Woods, who is coming off a great season that ended with taking the FedEx Cup. Phil Mickelson will be making his eighth appearance, while Sean O’Hair and Anthony Kim will be making their debuts, although Kim is used to this after his brilliant performance in the Ryder Cup. Stewart Cink and Lucas Glover won majors this year, and will attempt to end their season on a high note. The team is rounded out by Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, Justin Leonard, Hunter Mahan, Kenny Perry and Steve Stricker, and Fred Couples takes over for Jack Nicklaus as the captain. The Greg Norman-led International team are no slouches either, even though Geoff Ogilvy is their highest-ranked player at No.10. Vijay Singh is the veteran with eight Presidents Cup appearances, while Retief Goosen, Ernie Els, Mike Weir and Robert Allenby have all been here at least five times. Adam Scott was a captain’s pick despite having troubles over the past couple of seasons, and Tim Clark brings his short-but-accurate game to the tee. The wild cards will be rookies, Camilo Villegas, Ryo Ishikawa and Y.E. Yang, who came out of nowhere to win the PGA Championship (Masters champion Angel Cabrera is the other major winner on the International team). When Villegas’ putter heats up, he can score with the best of them, and Yang finished his PGA season with a top-20 at the TOUR championship. However, online sports betting players don’t know much about the 18-year-old Ishikawa, who has won four Japan Tour events this year and finished T-56 at the PGA Championship. MARCO’S PICK: The Americans are big favorites according to Presidents Cup odds, and they should be, given their dominance in the event. One of the big matchups will take place off the course as captains Couples and Norman will duel with their selections. Couples have more talent to go through, and he’s proven during his playing career to have a level head, while the same can’t be said of Norman, who just split up with wife Chris Evert. But ultimately, the matches have to be played, and the numbers don’t lie: the Americans have an average ranking of 14 in their squad, while the Internationals are just under 30. That, combined with a raucous crowd, will be the reasons for another American victory. PRESIDENTS CUP ODDS PICK: The United States -265
