Ducks vs. Sharks odds highlight busy night in the NHL
Internet sportsbook odds: San Jose still undefeated in regulation at home
- Ducks and Sharks renew Pacific Division rivalry
- Carolina tries to avenge last week’s loss to Philadelphia
- Slumping Wild travel to the desert to face Coyotes
With eight NHL games on the sked Thursday, NHL betting fans have plenty to look forward to. In the main event of the evening, the Ducks dive into the Shark tank to face a San Jose team that looks poised to capture its first Stanley Cup. The Hurricanes are struggling to keep pace with the Capitals in the Southeast Division, but life doesn’t get any easier for them when they travel to Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Wild hope a clash with the mediocre Coyotes will stop their losing streak at two.
Ducks vs. Sharks odds
The Ducks, who’ve won five of seven, can’t be taken lightly. Youngsters Ryan Getzlaf and Corry Perry have come into their own and Teemu Selanne continues to look ageless. But right now, no one can beat the Sharks. Their 22-3-2 start is among the most dominant in NHL history. Because of their tremendous depth at both forward and defense, the Sharks are virtually slump-proof. If the Thornton-Marleau-Setoguchi line takes a night off, the Pavelski-Clowe-Michalek unit picks up the slack. If you’re looking to bet online, don’t expect the Ducks to upset the Sharks at home, where they’re a sparkling 14-0-2.
Hurricanes vs. Flyers odds
Another team facing a tough test is Carolina, who has looked competent under “new” head coach Paul Maurice while enduring a vicious recent schedule. The road doesn’t get any easier as they travel to Philadelphia to face a Flyers squad with only one regulation loss in its last 10 games. Sure, Carolina has extra motivation after losing to Philly last week. However, unless Eric Staal wakes up, the Hurricanes won’t topple the Flyers in Philadelphia. Sure, the Flyers’ schedule has been easier than arm-wrestling your grandmother over the last month, but their offense is rolling and they’ll have no trouble lighting up the ’Canes. Bet on the Flyers.
Wild vs. Coyotes odds
With just one goal in their last two games, the Wild are missing sniper Marian Gaborik more than ever. But, Gaborik or not, a trip to Phoenix is just what they need. Minny is well rested, having not played since Saturday. Phoenix is playing the second game of a back-to-back. Toss in Wild netminder Niklas Backstrom’s sterling play and the Coyotes anemic offense, which ranks last in the Western Conference, and NHL betting fans have a recipe for a Minnesota victory.
