NHL Betting Trends – What To Look For In This Weekend’s Games
There are a lot of betting fans that have a lot to be thankful for this weekend, especially if they are hockey fans. Sure the NFL betting is a bit more frantic on Thanksgiving week, but the hockey betting picks up as well. There are some very good hockey games this weekend, and the NHL scores may wind up surprising some people. Teams are jockeying for position in the NHL standings, and this weekend will help some teams to get a better idea of where they are headed.
Philadelphia Flyers @ New Jersey Devils – Saturday, 1:00 PM EST
The Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils are both on winning streaks as they head into this game. The Devils seem to have found themselves and have finally started putting back to back wins together. The Flyers have been having an excellent season and are one of the top teams in the NHL. Philadelphia is currently riding a three-game NHL betting winning streak.
But with all of the advances the Devils have made in recent games, there are still some lingering problems. The team is sluggish and scoring sensation Ilya Kovalchuk only has 10 points so far this season. Until the Devils get things into a higher gear, they will be no match for teams like the Flyers.
Buffalo Sabres @ Montreal Canadiens – Saturday, 7:00 PM EST
The Sabres are having a “one step forward, two steps back” kind of season. Just when they get rolling, goaltender Ryan Miller gets hurt and the Sabres have to start all over again. The Canadiens are the top team in the Northeast Division and, if someone doesn’t start winning along with Montreal then the Habs could run away with the division. They put their faith, once again, in Carey Price and this time Price is rewarding the team with wins.
The Sabres are on the verge of getting Ryan Miller back and he could play in this game. It just seems like the Sabres play more confident in front of Miller and push the puck towards the opposing goal. If Miller plays then look for a Sabre win, if he does not then this game will belong to Montreal.
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Ottawa Senators – Saturday, 7:00 PM EST
Every team in the Northeast Division hates the Ottawa Senators, but the Toronto Maple Leafs take the hatred to a whole new level every time they play the Sens. This game will be a hard-hitting affair between two teams that are still trying to figure out if they are going to be factors in the NHL playoff race this season.
The Leafs have gone through some pretty horrendous losing streaks already this season, and a lot of it has to do with their goaltending. The Senators are also having goaltending problems, but not to the extent that the Leafs are having them. This will be a fun game to watch, but the Senators should come away with it.
